How much bleeding is normal ?

I am 8 weeks 5 days pregnant & this morning I've woke up , gone to the loo & when I've wiped there has been very light blood on the tissue
I also feel cramp in my stomach , as if I am about to have a period

I know some bleeding is normal but as it's my first pregnancy I can't help but panic now it's happening

The last few days I've had my morning sickness as usual but I've also been extremely stressed at work
Monday I ended up walking out of work after a explosive argument with 2 senior managers
Yesterday when I returned , it was still as stressed

What would anyone advise ? Do I need to ring my midwife or do I just continue with my day ?

I'd ring your midwife. I didn't have any bleeding in my pregnancy, but one of my friends bled sporadically throughout. Another had bleeding at 7-8 weeks and had a scan and baby was fine, then no more.

My advice is always to ring your midwife. Even if everybody here said no it would be fine, I'd still say ring your midwife. Every single pregnancy is so different and this could be and probably is nothing to worry about, but every mother who is anxious should always call the specialist if they think something is wrong. It will make your pregnancy so much easier when you know that's okay to do, and don't worry, they won't be annoyed or say you're wasting their time xx

I would definitely contact your gp or midwife. It is worth it so you are reassured and they can check you if needed.

I am 11 weeks and had some light bleeding at the weekend. I rang 111 and spoke to a really lovely doctor who told me because it was light and I didn’t have other symptoms apart from some small stomach discomfort that I should contact My gp on the Monday. The gp reviewed my notes and decided no further action unless the bleeding because heavy with abdominal pain. It has not reoccurred since and my dating scan was fine this week.

Definitely speak to someone because they will ask questions about any other symptoms you might or might not have and then decide what, if anything, is needed based on that. it will help put your mind at rest at least. Best of luck

Meant to say “if bleeding continued and became heavier” they told me to Contact them again

Call up and get some proper medical advice. There is no such thing as 'normal' when it comes to pregnancy bleeding.
Some women (like myself) have none at all, others have implantation and spotting, some even have quite heavy bleeding.
It's most likely absolutely fine but it could also be a sign that something isn't quite right so definitely ring up for some peace of mind at least.

I have had bleeding at 13+5 spoke to the midwife she sent me for a scan everything was fine now 2 days later and bleeding again phoned midwife but she is not concerned as I went for scan yesterday and everything was fine but I am still worried has anyone else had this
