This may be a ridiculous question but is there a difference between the baby grows babies wear in the day vs the ones they sleep in? 🤷🏻‍♀️

not really. Maybe have more patterns on daytime ones if you wish

Do you mean sleepsuits, so an outfit with sleeves, legs and feet? Don't think there is DS didn't have separate day and night clothes when he was very little, we only started changing his clothes for bed when he was wearing outfits (leggings and top for example, or dungarees) during the day. Don't worry, it seems massively confusing at first but you soon find what works for you and your baby

Just that sleep suits are like onesies-
Bodysuits are like, well bodysuits.
My niece was in sleepsuits consistently as a newborn- I preferred my LO is a bodysuit with/ without bottoms in the day (summer born baby). But that’s solely because I mentally liked the differentiation between day and night- no one else cares

a babygro is a sleepsuit
A popper vest is a bodysuit
Different names for the same thing

I remember wondering this first time around. Essentially no there is no difference but you normally find a sleepsuit is more basic then the babygrow you would dress baby in during the day. A day time babygrow might have a collar and certain design details such as smocking, ruffles, a collar to make it more 'dressy' but you can put a baby in a sleep suit for daytime, it's just purely your own preference

So I'm having a winter baby so I'm guessing it will be in skeepsuits a lot?

normally have layers e.g. nappy with bodysuit then a sleepsuit on top. Cardigan if you need an extra layer

My winter baby lived in sleepsuits. Much easier than fiddly outfits. Stick a vest on underneath if it's chilly. The gro guide helps to give an idea of layers. Even now I find a short/long sleeved vest & leggings easier than cute outfits, you can get some lovely patterned ones.

I had a winter baby and he wore sleep suits all the tome. It’s so lovely! I didn’t have specific day and night ones, you change them that often I just ended up grabbing any xx

The benefit of sleep suits is they have feet - you don't have to bother with socks (which are guaranteed not to stay on your baby for long). Its cute to dress babies up but for day to day a sleepsuit/onesie are great.

Baby gros are the best for new babies. Easy to wash, change when they’re sick, undo for nappies, comfy, no socks to worry about. Dd lived in hers for months.

I've always understood babygrows to be the ones with legs and usually worn by younger babies. Whereas popper vests / bodysuits are for all ages that are still in nappies.

My 3.5 yo is still nowhere near dry and still in cloth nappies so I regularly still put popper vests on.

I'd love some more popper vests but they aren't east to buy larger than 2yo. Any other mums still use them on an older toddler?

No but a little tip. If you get the ones with the envelope stretchy sleeves that don't have poppers. Stretch the grow over the feet first, not the head. I wish someone had told me before I was trying to put it over a newborns head at 2am and couldn't do it 😂😂

I got 2-3 from Asda. I think next do some and also Mothercare Did which I appreciate isn't helpful now.

It annoys me how once a child's 2 they stop making a majority of baby clothes for them. Suddenly they gave to dress like children aged up to 7 x
