Subject says it all- what week were you at? Did you find they continued to fit as your pregnancy progressed?

Depends on cloth. Jeans was from 25 weeks. Tops was from 29/30 weeks. But I had a neat bump.

Lottoboyz · 08/07/2020 17:19

I'm currently 24 weeks, I'm yet to buy any maternity clothes. I don't think I'll plan on buying any, maybe larger size clothes.

Lucky08 · 08/07/2020 17:24

I got a pair of mat jeans at around 24 weeks. Haven't bought anything else as I leave the house once a week only to go shopping due to lock down and didn't see the point in spending money. Mainly spend time around the house in loose fitting loungers

passthemustard · 08/07/2020 17:25

For my first I was well into 7 months and there didn't seem much point spending lots for a few weeks.

Now on my 5th pregnancy and at 15 weeks my jeans are really uncomfortable so I've bought a pair of under bump jeans which will see me through to 40 weeks I hope.

I bought a couple of tops in the sale but as I don't have a bump they look a bit silly at the moment. I hate this bit where you don't look pregnant but you feel really fat 😩

erised24 · 08/07/2020 17:27

I bought a couple of pairs of maternity jeans at about 16 weeks but I didn't use them until I was over 23-25 weeks as my old jeggings still fit and the mat jeans were far too big and awkward to wear. Am now 38 weeks and they fit lovely. I haven't bothered buying maternity tops, I just wear my old tank tops and oversized t-shirts.

I went into maternity jeans at 10 weeks. I only have high waisted normal jeans and couldn't strand the feel of them on my bloated tummy.

Daisyluna · 08/07/2020 17:31

I was the same as @edin16 ! I had also never realised how uncomfortable my regular jeans were until I tried the super comfy maternity ones, it will be a struggle to go back to them!

Willow4987 · 08/07/2020 17:33

DS1 - jeans from about 14 weeks. Didn’t want to get a bigger normal pair as I assumed (rightly) I’d need maternity ones at some stage. They were big to begin with but fitted throughout the rest of the pregnancy. Tops etc were from about 20+ weeks - also mainly because the seasons were changing so I needed warmer weather clothes that I didn’t have

DS2 - from about 10 weeks for all of it Grin

Earlier than I thought I would! At first I just bought non-maternity maxi dresses, thinking they'd do for summer. But with the rubbish weather, at 18 weeks I found myself struggling with what to wear as all my jeans were too uncomfortable, so I bought a couple of pairs of maternity trousers and jeans. Haven't bothered with any tops though.

sel2223 · 08/07/2020 17:58

I just wore loose clothes, maxi dresses etc for a long time.
I did buy some maternity jeans which I occasionally wore from about 18-20 weeks when i was feeling bloated and uncomfortable but they were quite baggy around the waistband and I didn't really need them. They probably only started fitting properly from abiut 27/28 weeks.

RestorationInsanity · 08/07/2020 18:02

Quite early, about 15 weeks. Apart from a bump and boobs I haven't changed size or even gained much weight but I'm tall and struggle to find long enough tops anyway, so the bump and boobs have made them all way too short already. My jeans were mid rise and do up right over my bump so no chance now! I also don't really have any loose or stretchy clothes like leggings or anything, so I didn't have much choice. I also don't want to dress totally differently than when not pregnant, so prefer to find a few nice maternity bits than try and get by with a few loose casual things.

ivfdreaming · 08/07/2020 18:19

I've just found out I'm pregnant with twins at 6 weeks - I'm already into stretchy trousers as none of my high waste skinny jeans are comfortable anymore - bit worried about how big I'm going to get 🤣

Mangomumma · 08/07/2020 18:37

First time around I don't think it was until 5/6 months, second time around 3/4 months. Any excuse for an elastic waistband!

WhatWouldPennyDo · 08/07/2020 18:48

Maybe 15/16 weeks? I’m no heavier than I was pre-pregnancy (and now 25 wks) but shape has changed completely. I’m not a leggings kind of woman so wanted to make sure I was in clothes that make me feel good.

Packed up most of my non-maternity stuff at around 20 weeks, excluding cardigans and blazers, and now living in my new wardrobe. Love it!

starsinyourpies · 08/07/2020 19:05

14 weeks with DC3 here and just getting them out of the loft today. Can't do up normal jeans any more so mostly wearing dresses.

Bettie2192 · 08/07/2020 19:07

I’m 19 weeks and I’ve been wearing some maternity leggings & tops because they’re really comfy, but I can still fit into my normal clothes (well I haven’t worn jeans for a couple of weeks so they may not button up now!). I was going to wait a bit longer until I bought any maternity jeans because I thought if I got them too early I could misjudge how big I might get? Not sure how ‘adaptable’ maternity jeans are?

Oatmilk1 · 08/07/2020 19:07

I bought some essentials (shorts/black jeans/long skirt) quite early (10 - 12 weeks maybe), but mostly because I didn't have a non maternity equivalent. Still wearing (just) my pre-maternity jeans and non-tight clothes. Have added a few maternity dresses since as well, but not much as am often at home!

Kodiak83 · 08/07/2020 19:08

20 weeks now and just starting to think my Jegging jeans are a bit tight. Might go into maternity leggings for a while as I doubt the maternity trousers will stay up yet. 3rd pregnancy. Interestingly I’m sure I was in maternity clothes from around 15 weeks last time.

1990shopefulftm · 08/07/2020 19:15

I was very bloated so wore some tops at 11 weeks, I'm not 24 weeks and it all fits apart from one pair of jeans,

mobear · 08/07/2020 20:32

24 weeks.
