B shaped baby bump?!

I’m just over 16 weeks and wondering if anyone else has had or has this shaped bump? It seems to have an obvious indent around my belly button and I think it just makes me look like I’m bloated and not pregnant! Do you think it will even out as the baby grows? I’d love to wear clothes to show off a bump but I’m too self conscious of the shape!

I’m 17 weeks and exactly the same! I just feel fat and bloated at the moment, rather than pregnant.

sel2223 · 08/07/2020 11:38

Yes, mine was like that for ages.
It only really 'popped out' into a nice rounded shape around 30 weeks.

Daisyluna · 08/07/2020 11:42

🤦🏼‍♀️ 30 weeks feels so far away! I think I’ll just have to accept it until then. Thanks for the reply 😊

Thanks for the reply, I’m glad it’s not just me at least!

Yes mine was like this until baby went head down.

sel2223 · 08/07/2020 11:48

Hopefully yours won't take that long to 'pop' OP, everyone is different.
I had a relatively small bump right up until 30 weeks plus so that will have made a difference... i actually went for a non pregnancy related ultrasound at 29 weeks and the sonographer missed that I was pregnant on my notes so got a shock when she started scanning. I was lying down and she said she wouldn't have guessed I was pregnant at all!

Don't worry. That lovely room you have at the top that's keeping your internal organs will be soon filled up with baby pushing everything up to make your lungs smaller Grin

BabyB19 · 08/07/2020 13:26

33 +3 and still B shaped, I'm resigned to the fact it will be u til the end now. Certain clothes are better, I've spent a lot of time in over the bump leggings as it smooths it out and then a looser fit dress/long top over them. Baby has been head down for a long while as well so that hasn't helped me like other pp's x

BabyB19 · 08/07/2020 13:27

I must add im a fair big heavier than you though, a UK 16 pre pregnancy so you may round out in time!

ChickenDipper28 · 08/07/2020 14:31

I was the exact same! Mine started below my belly button which made the B shape. It started rounding off around 20-22 weeks and I didn't notice the B anymore. I'm now nearly 27 weeks and it looks like a normal bump ☺️

InglouriousBasterd · 08/07/2020 14:33

I had that and she was back to back - no idea if there’s a link but MW guessed it just looking at the bump!

CoffeeDay · 08/07/2020 14:38

Same here! Baby was back-to-back until late third trimester. It's the curved spine facing front that helps to create a smooth bump. If you have feet & arms facing front then it's more likely to look B shaped. The upside is that you're less likely to get your belly button popped out and also feel kicks a lot more clearly!

kfcplease · 08/07/2020 16:53

Sorry to say but mine was like that and baby turned out to be back to back! 🙈 hopefully not the case for you but if you have a dip when lying down especially when further along then I would suggest having a look on spinning babies website.

Daisyluna · 08/07/2020 17:17

Thank you for all your replies, they have been really helpful. I have still got a long time for the baby to move so hopefully it will happen naturally if it is a back to back situation! 🤞 Until then I’ll just accept the B shape 😂

I had a bump from about 17 weeks but it took a while to look like a proper bump because it was lower down. I now have a very beach ball looking bump at 29 weeks and have done since about 23ish weeks.

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 08/07/2020 17:28

I'm 22 weeks and like this now! With DD1 I had a very obvious round bump but now with DD2 I just look like I've eaten a little too much - our bodies are weird and wonderful things!

Shefliesonherownwings · 08/07/2020 17:41

I'm 22 weeks and have this also. I was heavier before I fell pregnant this time around but I had it with my DD as well. I've always thought it was because I just have a very deep belly button. It never popped out last time and I kept my B bump until at least 30 weeks. I still have it now but at least I am looking pregnant and not just fat.

Phiphi123 · 08/07/2020 18:13

Mine was like that and had just about smoothed out at 23 weeks

Persiaclementine · 08/07/2020 19:56

Same here, I'm 22 weeks, in my first pregnancy it rounded out at 30 + weeks

Viletta · 09/07/2020 01:08

I found nice stretchy fit tops help shape the bump. Or maternity jeans/leggings.
