Okay, can anyone help?

Just over ten days ago, was told that my HCGS were rising but not doubling and that I should book myself in for a scan in the next 10-14 days and expect to miscarry in that time. My ultrasound, at this point, was only showing a sac and a yolk sac and nothing else - I was told that for 5 weeks this was perfectly fine since i'd had no bleeding. Their only concern was the HCG's being slow to double and that the chances of this pregnancy 'progressing' would be less than 1%.

Went back today (10 days later) and I have a fetal pole and a heartbeat. The doctor said things have 'improved' and todays u/s is not something she would have expected to see after the three, dissapointing HCG results.

Im now being told that I should go back in 7 days (next thurs) to check development .... what should I be thinking? Obviously, I'm worried sick - can anyone shed any light?

had a similar story with DD - she's now 21 months!!

Not everyone doubles every two days

checkout the betabase - there are some VERY long doubling times on there which were successful pregnancies.

It's an awful time in "limbo land" Katelyn, I remember it well.

Just remember that there nothing you can do (or not do) that will change anything.

Seeing the HB is a very good sign - I also found this site about early ultrasounds really helpful.

They thought my ds was an ectopic pregnancy because to start with they could find nothing in my womb and my HCG levels were not rising normally. I had to return for blood tests every 2 days and was scanned weekly, but at 8 weeks I was told it was a viable pregnancy and ds is now 2.

I'm really hoping everything goes well for you. Please keep us posted. The fact they've seen a heartbeat is a very good sign.

Had some spotting last night and this morning - brown in colour.

Went for a scan and baby has grown and no blood visable - back now in 14 days - fingers crossed!
