Vitamin advice after BFP?

Hi I just found out I'm around 5 weeks pregnant (bfp a few days ago) but I'm a but concerned as I have been taking various vitamins during my TTC journey. I take the Sevenseas trying to concieve prenatal daily, as well as a vitamin b complex tablet daily, and 50mg vitamin B6 tablet daily (this was used as I had a shortish luteal phase and some slight spotting before periods, and also I heard it helped with progesterone levels). I'm now not sure if i should continue with these vitamins? I'm a bit reluctant to stop as I definitely feel the B6 has helped me (i had a chemical pregnancy a couple of months previously). Any advice would be appreciated, for the time being I'm continuing as worried about just stopping! But at the same time I'm suffering with some constpation/trapped wind so not sure all the vitamins are helping with that. Dont have a midwife appointment for a couple of weeks so would like to know before then. Thanks in advance Smile

All of the 'pregnancy' vitamins are all advertising. I was told to take folic acid and vitamin D and that's it.
The only time a pregnancy multi vitamin helps is if your diet isn't the best.
It won't do you any harm if you stop taking them and then have a chat with your MW when you have your booking in apt x

Hi @MissJade27 I posted a similar question yesterday and then spoke to my pharmacist. I am also taking the seven seas tablets and have been prescribed higher dose folic acid to take for the first 12 weeks (BMI). They said to continue taking the seven seas as the extra nutrients are good and won't cause any harm. Sorry I have no advice regarding the B vitamins.

Once I run out of seven seas I'm going to switch over to a pregnancy vitamin.

Best of luck!

Thanks all for you advice, I think I'm going to stop the multivitamin and b6 as cant think that I will need it now. Surely prenatal or pregnancy vitamins will do the job? Dont want to end up taking too much! Also this constipation is doing my head in! And I've got a feeling it might not be helped with all the vitamins. I'll ask the midwife if it's ok when I go and see if I can get any help with this constipation. Out of interest has anyone had constipation and found anything that helps? Trying to drink lots of water, orange juice and some warm drinks. Hope your all well! Smile

Hi, I’ve just got my BFP and worried that if I stop my 50mg B6 I’ll miscarry. Just wondering if you stopped yours and how it worked out for you? Thanks!!
