Rising Levels

Hi all. I know this may seem like a silly question but I can’t find a clear answer online.

I had a missed miscarriage earlier this year. Despite my baby not having grown for 3 weeks I still was getting positive pregnancy tests. After the medical procedure it took 3 weeks to then get a negative result.
So clearly I had lots of HCG hormones despite the baby having not continued to grow.

So, my question!
If your body doesn’t recognise that your baby has ceased to grow does your body keep increasing in HCG hormones? Or do they just plateau?

I’ll explain why. I’m now pregnant again and the clear blue weeks digital test initially told me I was 1 week pregnant, and now 2 weeks later it’s telling me I’m 3weeks plus. Is this a good sign (of course nothing is certain) that my hcG levels are rising because the baby is growing. Or would my levels be rising even if the baby wasn’t (and my body hadn’t recognised the fact)?

I’m sorry for such a long question.
Any help would be appreciated.

As you can see I’m taking this new pregnancy in my stride and am very chilled out Wink
