Hi lovelies

I am currently 6 weeks pregnant and have just been prescribed cyclizine due to hyperemesis

Constant sickness and unable to keep anything down

Has this work for any ladies going through similar situation to me??

I have been unable to hold down my vitamins

Are you able to eat these whilst taking this tablet ?

Let me know
Thanks so much
Xx

Oral cyclizine didn’t help a lot, but once I was hospitalised, iv cycjuzubd really, really helped, albeit it was quite trippy.

Hi @BuffaloMozzerella I was on 4 Cariban tablets a day - one in the morning, one in the afternoon and 2 at night. I didn’t worry too much about taking with food/not, I think it’s recommended to take them on an empty stomach though. They do take a little while to work, they stopped me vomiting but didn’t cure the nausea unfortunately. I was given omeprazole for heartburn later in pregnancy and that actually helped with the nausea as well as the heartburn. I’ve only managed to reduce my Cariban to 3 tablets, I’m 36 weeks now and resigned to taking it to the end.

@mais In my last pregnancy I was given omeprazole from 20 weeks - it was a life saver. My sickness had faded a lot by then but omg the heart burn was unreal.

I wonder how many weeks you need to be before you can get omeprazole prescribed.

I don’t know @BuffaloMozzerella it was only for heartburn I was prescribed it and I’d say I was 30 weeks I was just lucky it worked for the nausea too. I have heard of people taking it for nausea in early pregnancy, it’s worth asking for, if I had my time again I’d ask for it much earlier.

Hi all

Thank you so much for your replies

I have been given prochlorperazine

It's sort of helping but still got constant nauseous and sickness :(

I know that's true I just got scared from what the doctor said and felt horrible and guilty but I have read more in to and with your replies its made me feel abit better so thank you for that

I am luckily managing some fluids, how long did HG last for you all? Did it calm down at some point? I just feel like I've got a long way ahead :( x

Since taking this new medicine I just feel like I'm slowly going back to how I was before taking any medicine

I'm throwing up atleast 3/4 times a day and constant nauseous

Is this normal?
