Dating scan question..

Hi all,
I have my dating scan in an hour () and I just have a couple of questions.. sorry if they're stupid!

• will they tell me at time if anything looks untoward?
• how long approx will the appointment take? My midwife did my bloods a couple weeks back, will different bloods taken?

Hi, congratulations! To answer your questions, yes they will tell you of anything that doesn’t look right. If you have chosen to have the combined screening test then you will have a blood test after your scan. I think it all took around 20/30 mins. Good luck, hope all goes well x

The scan is quite quick, maybe around 10 mins- as long as bubba is playing ball. Altogether I was in the hospital for an hour but I had to have bloods as I hadn't seen a midwife beforehand, urine sample and then blood pressure, otherwise I probably would've been out in about 20 min xx

Yes they tell you if they have concerns or you might be asked for a rescan if they can't check everything.

If you're having the combined test they'll do more blood tests.

Mine took about 20-25 minutes but I had a student sonographer so it took a bit longer for her to find an ovary. Good luck!
