Hi,

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and was prescribed omeprazole Friday for severe heartburn/acid reflux. I took one pill Friday evening, a few hours later I had a headache and numb, tingly hand and foot on same side. Felt fine next morning, except had a bout of diarrhea. Started throwing up at midnight last night and been crampy and achey since then. I was fine before this pill and so I am assuming it is that but surprised how long it has taken for the full side affect to kick in. I'm not going to take anymore but has anyone else had this issue? Should I definitely assume it is a reaction to it? (all the things i have had can be side effects of it).

It seems very unusual to be a side effect but it’s possible. I’ve been on it through 3 pregnancies and absolutely no side effects, I’m pretty sensitive to lots of medications. Maybe talk to a pharmacist or your GP?

I should probably mention that I do suffer with IBS so have an extra sensitive stomach. If I'm no better tomorrow then I might call to ask to be on safe side.

My ds is on it and it did give him upset stomach and headache at the very start. No side effects now at all. It's very safe during pregnancy, even babies can have it.
