TMI 'clear out' and labour

Anyone had a clear our before labour started?

I've been having back pains and what I think may be the start of contractions (not 100% sure though as FTM) and now I keep running to the loo. I think I've been 3 times in the last couple of hours. I feel fine in myself but definitely need to get there quick (sorry TMI)

Has anyone else had this and it been the start of labour? How long after your clear out did contractions etc start?

I'm 40+2 so eager to get this baby out now!

Could be. With my first I woke in the night, spent ages on the loo, contractions started as soon as I flushed! Fingers crossed for you!

Thanks for replying @Footlooseandfancy
Nothing as of yet but not sure if my waters have gone today or I just have terrible pelvic floor muscles haha!

Put a pad on and will call maternity unit in a bit if I'm not sure. Some back twinges today too so I'm hoping this is the start!

Yes they told us that in NCT - good luck OP!

I had this with my first two and it's definitely a sign. You would definitely know if your waters have gone as it normally is a massive gush (not always though). Keep an eye on your symptoms and see how you feel later on today as your contractions could start soon 😬 Good luck and wishing you a safe and speedy delivery ❤️ not long now xxx

Thanks everyone!

Still nothing yet, just lots of stabby vagina pains (lightening crotch) but I've been getting that for about 4 days lol

I’d had contractions ramping up for a few hours with both labours before I went for my mammoth clear out, so I already knew I was in labour when mine happened. I have lasting memories of sitting on the loo having contractions in agony but unable to get off. For me it was the sign that it was time to go to hospital but everyone is different.

Hopefully it won’t be long for you, good luck x

Any sign of baby yet? Xx

Nothing yet I'm afraid! Booked for a sweep tomorrow so will hopefully find out more about where baby is in terms of engagement etc and if there's any dilation at all as well.

Feeling nervous, fingers crossed for me please! 😂
