Hi Ladies

I just had my third scan today and the embryo had only grown 3mm in 10 days and no heartbeat. I should be 8 weeks by the pregnancy test and 12 weeks by my LMP so its not looking good. I was too upset to ask many questions when i was there although i did ask to go back for another scan in 10 days to confirm, they booked me in but they didn't seem positive for me. Anyway my question was if any of you ladies have had to suffer a miscarriage how long did it take for your bodies to realise it was happening, I still feel very pregnant, no cramps, lots of sickness etc but if the embryo should grow 1mm a day it would suggest it stopped growing a week ago. I realise this might be a 'how long is a piece of string' moment but any experiences would really help me prepare.

My baby stopped growing at 5 weeks but I did not start bleeding - and even then only slightly - until around 7 weeks. I did notice a drop in my pregnancy symptoms but I didn't have many to begin with. My miscarriage then was only completed at around 9 weeks gestation as I had to get follow up scans and have medical management.

My fingers are crossed that the worst is not happening for you lovely and that things will be different at your next scan. Sending big hugs ❤

Mine stopped at 8w 5d, I found out at 11w 1d when is started spotting the day before. I then bled on and off for 3 more weeks before I had enough and went for surgical management (I have a medical condition which made medical management in advisable).
I was really ill at the same time so had that not been the case then I would’ve had the surgery sooner.

I’ve had two MCs, the first at 8 weeks - I don’t know when baby stopped growing as I’d passed the whole pregnancy by the time they scanned me (started bleeding lunchtime Monday and was scanned about 11am Tuesday - bleeding got a lot heavier overnight and I knew it wasn’t going to be good news on the scan). Second time I started having brown discharge at 10 weeks, when they scanned me there wasn’t a fetal pole present, only a yolk sac. I started properly bleeding a week later, so it took my body 11 weeks to catch on that there was no baby. So sorry you’re going through this, it sucks

I stopped having symptoms of pregnancy at 7.5 weeks, spotting at 10 weeks only once, then spotting started again at 11 weeks eventualy getting heavier untill miscarried at 12 weeks exactly
