What clothes did you pack for hospital for yourself?

Hi everyone,

I’m in the middle of sorting my hospital bag and I’ve got pretty much everything sorted except I’ve got no idea what to pack for me!

I read dresses are easier but I’m not really a dress person so don’t actually own any Sad i was thinking of packing a 2-3 pairs of my black maternity cycling shorts as they’re really high waisted (and black in case of any leaks) and just some over sized tshirts. Is this okay? I’d prefer to be comfortable over anything.

I’ve also packed 2 nighties, one that is strappy so I can breastfeed easily and another that is more like a tshirt, and two maternity bras.

Is this enough? I feel like I’m forgetting something!

Also - big nickers - can anyone recommend a good brand? I bought some cheap big granny ones in a pack from primark but had no idea what size to get, I’m usually an 8-10 so I got a 14 and they don’t go anywhere near over my bump and have 0 stretch so are no good Sad

Any help would be fab!

Shorts and t shirt sounds fab. I did similar and took cropped leggings and vests and they were comfy and cool!! Knickers were marks and Spencer!! £12 a pack of 5 and worth every penny. I also took flip flops and some slipper socks. Good luck with the delivery and enjoy your baby!

Shorts and t-shirts sound perfect. Also take some flip flops for the shower/walking around the ward. I would take a couple more nighties as I wore one in labour which I changed a couple of times. M&S big knickers are the best. Put babies first outfit, nappy etc in a little sandwich bag, that way the midwife or birthing partner can just grab it and dress the baby whilst they’re seeing to you. Don’t forget straws incase you need to drink whilst laying back and lots of snacks! Also take a black bin bag for dirty clothes so you just sling everything in there an deal with it later.
