Hi all , looking for some advise. My period was due 5 days ago I’ve done the strip tests and a couple showed very very faint lines or my eyes were tricking me so I bought a clear blue digital test - that showed not pregnant. Anyone got any advice?I’ve spent the past 3 mornings extremely nauseous until lunch time , I’m shattered and just don’t feel right . Are the digital blue tests reliable?

I waited for my period to be a week late and the cheap superdrug brand test come up positive. We then went to the shop and brought a clear blue to clarify, which came up pregnant 2-3 weeks the next day. Make sure it's your first morning pee as it's more concentrated.

Some tests aren't very sensitive. Could you get a first response early response? They're very sensitive and they're pink dye so they're nice and clear. I was a good few weeks before I got clear lines on a strip test. The digital aren't as sensitive either.

Thanks ladies I think it’s the not knowing driving me mad, my OH Jst keeps telling me I am bless him he can’t do enough to try and reassure me . I’ll go get a first response test tomorrow and hopefully get a firm result Flowers

The only real answer to your question is to wait a few days and try the test again if your period is still overdue.

I believe Clear Blue digital test are very reliable - but false negatives are way, way more likely that false positives.

Further questions that might help give you some peace of mind:

  • Do you track your cycles?
  • Are your cycles normally regular?
  • Is 5 days late unusual for you?
To compare, I've been tracking my cycles for the last few years using Clue. The app tells me I have a cycle length of 27 days with a variation of 4 days - and I once had a 46 day cycle with several negative pregnancy tests.

Whether you're hoping for a pregnancy or not, try to be patient (much harder said than done) and, most importantly, look after yourself. I hope you feel better soon.

Hi meltaftermidnight yes I’m very regular every 28 days then period for 4 days , I’ve been tracking for the last year and nothing different in that time . I’m trying to be patient I think if I didn’t feel so nauseous in the mornings I’d be better as I cld just work and get on with it but I’m sitting at my laptop just wanting to go back to bed!

Going to get a first response abit later , got too many meetings at work today and all I want to do is sit with my head down the toilet 🤢 feeling so rough I don’t like getting up .

Sorry I can’t see anything but the lighting isn’t very good.

Teacaketotty · 02/07/2020 07:46

I’m not seeing anything there OP, definitely get a better quality test - those ones took forever to go positive for me.

Ricekrispiecake · 02/07/2020 08:31

I’ll get one later this afternoon, I just think if they keep coming up negative what do I do? I’ve never felt so rough before
