Hi, was just wanting a little help in choosing a boys name.I have searched the internet and can't find any that i love.My partner likes Alfie, and i kinda like Oliver.Only problem i feel that Alfie is a bit old fashoned, and we used to have a dog called Ollie and i know that if we called the baby Oliver people would be inclined to shorten it to Ollie which would annoy me.
My first son is called Charlie so i would like something that goes nice with that.
Any help would be great.

I think Alfie is fab and is v popular at the moment, so I don't see it as too old fashioned. Oliver is nice too.

< goes off and adds Alfie to the list... >

My ds is called Alexander (Alex), its the only boys name I liked! And I love Jak, my my dp doesnt like it at all, so were going to be stuck if I have a boy! I quite like Riley and Jackon too. I just dont think there are enough good boys names!

EmsMum · 27/09/2007 10:26

Alfie is nice on a little boy but I'm not quite sure what it would be like for a teen/adult.

Alex is good.

pussycatmomma · 27/09/2007 10:27

we are having a baby in jan08 but dont know if a boy or girl. Choosing boys names is extremely difficult, much more difficult than choosing pretty girls names!!!
I love the name Charlie, but our eldest cat is called Charlie....same with Archie, but we have a small spaniel dog by this name! (guess who thought she couldnt have children!!)
We are loving the name Oscar if our baby is a boy. Despite dh's family telling us it sounds like a dogs name . Oscar and Charlie sound lovely together, as does Archie and Charlie.
xx

Alfie is very popular here at the moment. I like Alex and think it suits all age groups. Do you like Archie? Increasingly popular, but not quite as popular as Alfie.

morethanmum · 27/09/2007 10:30

Miles?
Sam?
I love Digby but have been banned forever by dh.

chopchopbusybusy · 27/09/2007 10:31

X post with pussycat - maybe Archie is more popular than I thought then

niceglasses · 27/09/2007 10:33

If I had another boy I'd go for Edwin and shorten it to Win - think its really nice.

Alfie is my Dads name. I really wanted it for ds1 but dh said no.

PregnantGrrrl · 27/09/2007 10:33
