Ok so I'm 32 weeks plus 3 and had a scan today and baby weighs 4lbs 1oz. Now I know this could be wrong but assuming it is right would that indicate a big baby? He's coming out by planned c section on 17 August

I had a scan around 31 weeks and the baby weighed 4lb 4oz, at birth 10 days overdue was 7lb, I think all my scans were pretty inaccurate really, I wouldn’t think too much about it☺️

I was told on my first DD that she would be no more than 8lbs according to scans.. I was huge. She was born weighing 10lbs 14oz. I found the midwifes had a better idea that she would be big from feeling my bump.

A lot of people will say that they are very inaccurate and their baby was a totally different weight to what was predicted but DS2 was absolutely bang on what they had predicted for him. When I was 36weeks I had a bleed and there was talk of doing my CS early. I'd had a scan a few weeks before saying he was already about 5 and a half pounds so I found it reassuring that he wouldn't be very tiny if he had to be born early (he went to 39 weeks in the end though).

32 week growth scan predicted 4lbs, had her at 39+3 and she was 7lbs 3oz

I’m 32+4 today and had a growth scan 2 days ago and was told she weighs 4lb 2.

They said she was in the smaller side but not worryingly. I’m not concerned at all, it’s my third baby an dthe scans with my other 2 babies were also very inaccurate.

Ok thanks for all replies it all sounds good then

With my last baby I didn't have any scans after the 20 week one and he was 8lbs 8 at birth

I had a growth scan at just over 32 weeks (last week) and she was weighing 4lb 13oz! I am expecting another big baby x

KLM19 · 01/07/2020 18:27

I had a growth scan at 32+1 and told baby was 4lb 4 and if kept on the same path and went to term would be 7lb 14 :)

UrsulaSings · 01/07/2020 22:06

I had a growth scan at exactly 30 weeks and they estimated 3 lbs 15 oz, which put me on the 90th percentile. So I dont think 4 llb 1 oz at 32+3 is particularly big. In fact, at my growth scan my measurements were putting me closer to 32/33 weeks, showing 4 llb is about average for that gestation.

bestbrowsintown · 01/07/2020 22:16

Would probably be around 8lbs. I think they gain around half a pound a week at your stage

sel2223 · 01/07/2020 22:25

I had a growth scan at 31+1 and baby was apparently 4lbs exactly which I was told was fairly average.

chocolicious · 01/07/2020 22:45

I never had a growth scan with either of my DCs.
A few weeks before DC 2 was born, the midwife said she thought baby would be a 7 pounder.DC2 was born on due date weighing 9 pounds exactly.

Dyra · 01/07/2020 22:59

I can't quite remember DD's estimated weight at 32 weeks (think it was 4lb 12oz), but I definitely remember at 36 weeks she was estimated at 6lb 15oz.

She arrived at 37+1 weighing a respectable 7lb 5oz, so the scan was pretty bang on.

Assuming your scan is also accurate, baby should be around 7lb 9oz at 39+1.
