I’m really suffering with dizziness, feeling faint, low blood pressure. Doctors told me to eat salty stuff and put on some weight... easier said than done ... anyone got any tips that could help?

Opelbow · 10/08/2020 12:22

@Tink2020 Try drinking shakes as well as meals. Juice plus, have a look on google or Facebook are healthy shakes you can have as well as your meals to put weight on.

NoelDA · 10/08/2020 20:52

Hi ladies I'm new here hope your all well! I'm due with my first 🙈 Jan 30th! Hope you don't mind me joining in your group!

Tink2020 · 10/08/2020 21:44

@Opelbow I had a mango yogurt smoothie tonight, will give it a go more often x

SnookyPook · 10/08/2020 23:57

@NoelDA Welcome! Of course we don’t mind - the more the merrier! 😁

Onekidnoclue · 11/08/2020 11:51

@NoelDA congratulations! Welcome. How are you feeling?

@Tink2020 have helped ill relatives with weight gain diets. The aim has been to sneak in hidden calories. So if you can out coconut milk in the smoothie or nut butter that’s great. Swap out semi skimmed milk for full fat if possible. Sneak full fat yoghurt into sauces or curries. Good luck!

@Opelbow thank you x will bare all that in mind
My doctor is hoping the weight loss is due to my thyroid being over medicated so hopefully now my dosage has been adjusted and I am beginning to get an appetite I will start putting weight on.
Will take and try any tips lol x

footprintsintheslow · 11/08/2020 18:50

@NoelDA welcome along and congratulations

I wonder if anyone had their 20 week scan coming up this week or next?

Mine is in 3 weeks.

I wonder if they will be any change on partners attending.

Tink2020 · 12/08/2020 10:07

Mine is on the 10th of September, really hoping my partner can come but our local NHS trust is quite strict. I have my midwife appointment this Friday so will ask her x

Dspx · 12/08/2020 10:45

I have mine next week, luckily at my hospital partners can come just for the scan they have to wait outside and then I call him when In the scan room so it’s worth asking your hospital. X

SnookyPook · 12/08/2020 10:57

My 20wk scan will be 7th Sept. Was told at the 12wk one that partners are allowed to the 20wk one. Just hoping that remains the case over the next month and we don’t go back into lockdown etc! I think for anyone it’s worth ringing the antenatal clinic the day before to check 👍🏼

Got my 16wk midwife apt this aft - still over the phone. Not sure what they’ll be doing? Anyone else still only having phone appointments with midwife?

SnookyPook · 12/08/2020 10:59

Btw @Onekidnoclue what was the msg limit on the last thread? Might we need a new one soon? X

Opelbow · 12/08/2020 11:16

@SnookyPook I had a 16 week appointment over the phone. She basically just confirmed my details.

Tink2020 · 12/08/2020 11:22

My 16 week is over the phone. Midwife brings me in briefly to take my weight and do blood pressure and everything else is on phone x

Onekidnoclue · 12/08/2020 15:37

That’s it. I’m officially too hot now.
Keep telling myself how fortunate I will feel in January to have a hot water bottle strapped to me all day and I’m lucky I’m not at the “waddling” stage now. Still sulking though 🤣
Is there a word for under boob/top of bump? The horrible sticky sweaty bit between them?

Top tip for us pregnant mams:
Buy a cheap small paddling pool now (you will need it this time next year anyway for the baby). I know this sounds daft but I didn't realise how cool you get from dunking your feet I'm cold water.

blueskiesandapples · 12/08/2020 17:00

Having a bit of a paranoid day. I'm 16+2, and not showing yet, can't feel it move yet and my anti-sickness drugs have stopped the nausea and vomiting so I'm worried that maybe it isn't alright in there. This is my first - anyone else feel anxious about this? Xxx

Opelbow · 12/08/2020 17:27

It's just starting raining here, I'm so excited I've gone to sit outside.

footprintsintheslow · 12/08/2020 17:46

@blueskiesandapples it's so easy to feel anxious. I feel it almost every day on occasions.
Do you need a good talking to? 16 weeks is incredibly early to feel any movements.
And your saying that your prescribed anti sickness meds are working and doing their job? That's good, imagine feeling sick and big in this heat.

Have you had your 16 week check yet? Maybe the midwife can look for the heartbeat for you. Daffodil

Onekidnoclue · 12/08/2020 18:02

I don’t think it’s normal to feel movements at 16 weeks. Wasn’t expecting anything until about 20.
The baby is still tiny @blueskiesandapples i read one of those blogs that says size of a pear at 16 weeks. If you had eaten a pear you wouldn’t expect to see a difference. I’m pretty sure my bump is 90% frutella 😳

blueskiesandapples · 12/08/2020 18:05

@footprintsintheslow thank you. Yes I do need a talking to and reminding. I think it's because people we have told are so excited but I'm just anxious. My 16 week is tomorrow, and in person. I'm so thankful the prescribed sickness drugs are working as I have been so ill (and still am if I don't take them - tried to cut back but too soon) but it also takes away that definite sign. I'm sure it will be fine, just having a wobble and wanted some virtual hugs/reassurance as I'm in greater Manchester so family/friends aren't allowed round. X

Opelbow · 12/08/2020 19:35

I was always interested in hypnobirthing. I ask my pregnancy yoga group for recommendations and have just started an online course for £39. It seams great a giving real information about birth.

This is my first baby but my OH's 4th he is learning a lot about what happens to the body during labour.

footprintsintheslow · 12/08/2020 20:00

@blueskiesandapples must be so hard it having people around when you want them.

Although everyone knows I'm pregnant I don't talk about it much as their excitement just adds pressure to me.

Thank god for mumsnet hey?!
