@nchristie that's devastating news and I've been through the same thing, just ask if you want to chat or have some support. If not from me then look for threads on mumsnet as you are never alone here. So many of us have been through the same thing.

SnookyPook · 07/08/2020 15:44

Hi everyone, how are you doing in the heat? I’m 16wks today! Currently squished into non-maternity elasticated short leggings as the maternity clothes I ordered were more for the long-term when I knew bump would be bigger (read Autumnal 😂)

Tink2020 · 07/08/2020 16:43

I have managed well today, stayed in for the peak of the heat and closed curtains / blinds. Wearing a pair of cycling shorts with a loose dress and I have to roll them down below my bump as they are too tight. My maternity shorts are slightly too thick for this heat x have cheap Primark shorts to wear indoors x

Opelbow · 07/08/2020 19:46

I picked up a pair of shorts from Aldi 2 sizes bigger than I was. I'm hoping they will do me for the next few weeks.

Onekidnoclue · 07/08/2020 20:59

How have you guys managed without mat clothes?!? I look like a whale already. Don’t think I was this big with DS though DH tells me I’m deluded and was the size of a small moon.
My wardrobe plan is for vast kaftan wafty dresses all summer then skinny jeans and huge jumpers for the winter. Let’s hope the weather plays along!

@Onekidnoclue “the size of a small moon” 😂

Floaty dresses are a good plan in this heat! Glad it’ll be the cooler months by the time we get massive! Good for snuggling up with a baby too!

Rexodus · 08/08/2020 19:56

The heat is absolutely draining me! I'm so glad I have a fan blasted at me all day otherwise I don't think I could cope! I'm already wearing maternity wear now, I was already in the 11st range when I fell pregnant so having the larger clothes is needed for me; now I need to find comfortable over-the-belly underwear (I cannot stand hip-hugging bottoms!) as all mine are getting a bit too uncomfortable - but not sure if that's from the chocolate or the baby!

I don't know if any of you ladies have the same issue, but right now when I stand up my abdomine is hard but when I'm laying or sitting down it like disappears; it's constant hardness and only when I stand!

Opelbow · 08/08/2020 21:14

@Rexodus this my my first baby and I was wondering about nickers.

Like if I would need new ones and what kinda would be most comfortable.

This does seam the best place to talk about it.

SnookyPook · 08/08/2020 21:58

@Rexodus my bump does the same. I presume it’s because my abdomen area is more taught when I’m standing and relaxed when sitting/reclining?

Hubby looked at me this morning and said ‘Wow, I’ve just realised you really are pregnant!’ 😂 only took him 16wks!

SnookyPook · 09/08/2020 19:45

Boy... pregnancy hormones hit hard today! Earlier I burst into tears in the dog field because I felt bad I hadn’t bought my husband a treat at the shop... then this evening I felt enraged by every little thing he did! I could feel it bubbling up in me! Thankfully seems to have subsided now! On the whole I’ve not been overly emotional so far but really felt it today! How’s everyone else doing? X

198435years · 09/08/2020 20:50

Has anyone else had backache at this stage? I got it quite a bit early on but then it disappeared. Wondering if it's the progesterone pessaries I'm on or normal stretching of ligaments etc.

Opelbow · 09/08/2020 21:16

@198435years I've had backache. So I've started pregnancy yoga and got a yoga/pregnancy ball to sit on a bit while working.

@SnookyPook oh yesterday was awful I cried twice over nothing. Again the yoga helps for relaxation.

198435years · 09/08/2020 21:21

@Opelbow I really like yoga I so should give it a go. I've heard backache early on and later on is common but wondered about this middle trimester.

Opelbow · 09/08/2020 21:27

@198435years this is my favourite information website, it's Australian. It does say back ache is a symptom.

198435years · 09/08/2020 21:53

@Opelbow Thank you! It is a good website isn't it? Lots of info which I like. I feel like a researcher sometimes during this pregnancy with it being our first and feeling a bit clueless about everything.

SnookyPook · 09/08/2020 23:05

@198435years yep I’ve had some backache too - started up over the last week (16+3 at mo). Also noticed it on symptoms lists for week 16 on various sites! Will have a look at the Aussie one! Love a bit of research 😁

@Opelbow I’ve found a couple of good prenatal yoga videos on YouTube! I do like a bit of yoga and it really does feel like it helps! Some of the stretches feel soooo good on the tummy area!
