@PollyOaks I’m exactly the same - I remember last time I woke up one day and just didn’t feel pregnant, and that’s when I had the mmc. I’m 13 weeks today and haven’t been sick for 3 days, I know it’s fine but I have that paranoia from before. When’s your next scan? I’m having another scan in less than 3 weeks and I keep thinking of them as check points.. if that makes sense

PollyOaks · 13/07/2020 22:09

@123Phi had you had any scans before your mmc? My next scan is a private one booked for 2nd August which isn't too long to wait but feels like forever when you're worried doesn't it

123Phi · 13/07/2020 22:23

@PollyOaks no I hadn’t so this time round I’ve been very cautious. I’m so glad I’m not alone with feeling like this! Mines 2nd August too

PollyOaks · 13/07/2020 23:39

@123Phi oh that's exciting our scans are the same day! I hope we are both just lucky to be feeling good and symptom free. Can't wait for the day I feel movement so I know that I am actually pregnant without waiting for scans to prove it lol

footprintsintheslow · 14/07/2020 11:56

Sickness has returned with a vengeance today just out of the blue at 14 weeks! How disappointing!

Sazzy312 · 14/07/2020 12:04

@footprintsintheslow oh I had that was OK for a few days then two nights on a trot sicked up all the dinner yuck, still have the odd moment now at 15 weeks, I'm actually feeling quite depressed too I thought by now I'd be really happy and glowing but maybe It just take some of us longer, hope your sickness gets better soon

WhoUsedMyName · 14/07/2020 15:43

Today I invested in some nursing bras and quite frankly I don't understand why I ever go back to wearing normal underwired uncomfortable annoying ones and feel this maybe the new me big pants and floppy boob slingers Blush🤣

Onekidnoclue · 14/07/2020 16:47

Pissing myself at ‘floppy boob slingers’ @WhoUsedMyName

I’m in love with my maternity jeans, so comfy 🤤

Hi all. Scan at 11am Today went well, thought I was 13 weeks but actually 13w2days. I’ll take the extra 2 days Smile NT measurement was 1.4mm which I gather is good after some internet research. I’m 37 so was a little worried. Baby wriggled and was very uncooperative so scan was 30 minutes! Whole appointment was 1 hour. And that includes clinic running 20 minutes behind. Just had scan and bloods, height and weight. No midwife chat Hmm but was very happy with scan.

nchristie · 14/07/2020 20:48

I got the result back from the NIPT and it's less than a 1 in 10,000 risk for Down's Edwards' and Patau's so very relieved.

footprintsintheslow · 14/07/2020 22:05

That's great @nchristie what a relief. I'm sat by the door waiting for the postie to get my letter.

nchristie · 15/07/2020 00:23

Thanks.

Btw, saw people were asking about maternity bras. I bought a nursing sleep bra from bravissimo mostly because seemingly within days of getting pregnant my old bras ceased to fit. I didn't know my new size so I bought a few sizes and then sent back the ones which didn't fit comfortably. I've been really happy with the new bra and got a second one exactly the same. I actually wear it during the day rather than at night mostly now, but it's comfortable to wear overnight too. Here's a link: www.bravissimo.com/products/nursing-sleep-bra-ln770/#navy-ln770nvy

nchristie · 15/07/2020 00:25

@footprintsintheslow are you getting results back by post?

Tink2020 · 15/07/2020 08:13

Can anyone recommend a pregnancy pillow? X

footprintsintheslow · 15/07/2020 09:20

@nchristie sorry I'm just waiting for my normal combined test results. In Wales we have them on the nhs first. Results for low risk come via post. High risk means you get a phonecall from your midwife. If you are high risk you have a NIPT test next.
It's been over two weeks now so desperate for my results.

Onekidnoclue · 15/07/2020 09:35

@footprintsintheslow have you chased them? Mine came through pretty quickly but I was told to call if it was more than 10 days.

nchristie · 15/07/2020 09:38

@footprintsintheslow the fact you didn't get a call is good news, my risk was high enough that I got a call the next day after my 11 week scan and bloods. The post in London has been really slowed down by covid, and some things just never arrived, don't know if you've had similar in Wales, but I think the midwives shouldn't mind if you call to ask if they can share results by phone considering it's been two weeks already.

SnookyPook · 15/07/2020 09:49

Hi All! How is everyone doing this week? Anyone still waiting for their 12wk scan or have we all had those now? I’ve been a bit achey around my abdomen the last couple of days - guess probably just the uterus expanding a bit more. I keep thinking maybe I can see the beginnings of a bump and then thinking I’m imagining it!

SnookyPook · 15/07/2020 10:00

Just seen 2 pages of posts that I somehow missed and didn’t get alerted to!

@WhoUsedMyName the aspirin came up because in my history taking they noted that my Sister had pre-eclampsia. Apparently this heightens my risk so it’s a precaution.

Ooh good to hear all the maternity bra tips! Been thinking I will need to invest soon as mine is leaving a line across my boobs now! Hard when you can’t try any on!

I feel very lucky, not only did my Sis used to work in Mothercare, she also has a 6month old baby so is a fountain of knowledge on prams etc! Rather than overwhelm myself with looking, I might just take her advice! I’ve been for a walk with her and pushed her pushchair and liked it so might just go with that! Haha. It’s a Joie if that means anything to any of you!

Tink2020 · 15/07/2020 10:01

I am 12 weeks today, got my scan next Tuesday x

Opelbow · 15/07/2020 10:14

My scan is tomorrow. I'm excited and a bit nervous.

My silly question do they find the baby straight away or does it take time? I wondered what to expect.

nchristie · 15/07/2020 10:40

@Opelbow with my scans they found the baby pretty much straight away. With the first scan baby wasn't in the right position for sonographer to do all the measurements so she had to get me to lie on my side for a few seconds and then go on my back again to help move it over and then she got the measurements. I also arrived with an over-full bladder so she sent me off to do a wee!

nchristie · 15/07/2020 10:48

@SnookyPook I also have a retroverted uterus. I think normally it doesn't make much difference. I had an early scan at 5 weeks and it was in the notes from that scan but the sonographer didn't actually mention it to me during the appointment so I guess it was just an observation. I've got a friend who has three healthy children and also has a retroverted uterus, so seems like a good sign.

SnookyPook · 15/07/2020 10:59

@Tink2020 @Opelbow good luck for your scans! She seemed to find my Bubba straight away and immediately let me know that it looked good and strong before turning the screen on for me. Other things to note, the gel is a bit cold but not unbearable! 😁

@nchristie oh that’s good to know. Yeah it didn’t seem like a big deal.

Tink2020 · 15/07/2020 11:39

In the private scan it took what felt like a minute to find baby as my bladder was really full and I was bloated lol x can’t wait to see baby again next week x
