@lauraha85 my scan went really well thank you, how about you, we have finally told everyone too and feel so overwhelmed and emotional with all the well wishes and support xx

Hope both your scans went well too @Onekidnoclue and @Lauraha85

Lauraha85 · 09/07/2020 16:54

@angelascott yes mine went great I am 12 weeks 4 days so due 17th Jan - we too have told everyone and I am also very emotional lol
I am so happy all ok with you- hows the sickness ?

nmw93 · 09/07/2020 17:15

Hey guys! I've been a bit MIA over the last few weeks! I've been having a rough time with nausea, vomiting and headaches. My dating scan is tomorrow at 8:40am though I have previously had 2 private scans that some of you will have seen.

My booking bloods came back normal which was a relief! I've also definitely rounded out, added a little photo for comparison. I'm 12+5 today!

Hope all you ladies are doing well, can't wait to see some scan pictures!

angelascott · 09/07/2020 17:44

@lauraha85 the sickness is very on and off with the new meds, yesterday I was sick all day but today I have just felt really nauseous. How about your sickness and so happy all went well with the scan xx

@nmw93 hope you are well, the sickness is bad isn't it, we are all here for support of even if you just want to moan xx good luck for scan tomorrow xx

Help!!! We was dtd and I started bleeding. It was red blood quite a bit then I went to the toilet for a wee (sorry tmi) and it was almost gone but kinda there when I wiped. I've rang midwife who said put a pad on and monitor how bad it gets if I soak through pads go to a&e that's all she could advise 😭 petrified can anyone help me that's been in this situation x

Opelbow · 09/07/2020 18:01

@WhoUsedMyName thinking of you. Sorry I've got no advice. Xx

Onekidnoclue · 09/07/2020 18:11
@Onekidnoclue I just caved and called the screening midwife under the pretense of wanting to know how soon I would hear back, but hoping she would just tell me over the phone. Fortunately my paperwork happened to be on the top of her pile so I got to hear my results there and then - all nice and low, 1/2500 for Downs and in the tens of thousands for the other two. It's a massive weight off my mind. I can recommend calling them 48 hours or so after your appt if you haven't heard by then, they seemed fine about telling me.
Sneaky! I love it!

Oh crap. What a time for it to happen? How much is a lot? It looks like loads when it’s smeared (sorry to be gross). Was it just blood? So stressful but no matter how well-endowed your DH is he can’t have poked the baby. Much more likely it’s irritated your cervix. X

@angelascott exactly the same I was sick allllll day yesterday - today constant lingering nausea , heres to hoping it subsides for us both ASAP

angelascott · 09/07/2020 18:23

@lauraha85 Fingers crossed as I really just want to eat something different to the plain boring foods that taste horrendous when coming back up but all that I can currently stomach putting in my mouth😂😭

@WhoUsedMyName I haven't been in this position as we haven't yet dtd since finding out as my sd has totally vanished but I have heard its normal to bleed a little after/during and as long as not gushing it should all be OK xx sending positive vibes to you xx

SnookyPook · 09/07/2020 19:23

We’ve only dtd a couple of times - partly because it’s the only time I’ve had any kind of spotting and it freaked me a little! It was just very mild spotting in my case but I guess for some it could provoke more? Apparently due to cervix tenderness. The other possibility I’ve heard a couple of people have little cysts or things like that that burst? I hope it is something like that. Horrible to have anything scary go on. The timing with just having dtd Does make it seem it must be linked... really hope all is ok. Keep us posted. Thinking of you.

WhoUsedMyName · 09/07/2020 19:30

Thank god I managed to get a private scan with window to the womb they were amazing and the sonographer got me in on her last break. Heart beat is there and everything looks fine so just have to monitor. Thanks ladies x

SnookyPook · 09/07/2020 19:58

@WhoUsedMyName oh thank goodness! So glad you were able to get reassurance! And very glad little Bean is doing well in there! Smile xx

Onekidnoclue · 09/07/2020 20:42

some one please tell me superstitions are stupid and have no real truth. I am quite a superstitious person so have refused to buy any baby stuff until after 20 week scan but today my partner was looking on the silver cross website and found a lovely nursery furniture set 50% off called his mum to see what she thought of it and she said for that price she would be willing to pay for it for us totally unexpected but a massive help as we get married next year so money is tight so we talked it over and decided to buy it rather than risk waiting 6 weeks and the sale being over and then having to buy a full price set which we would have to pay for. Now I’m
Laying in bed freaking out that I have jinxed myself and toying with the idea of cancelling the order. What would you do ? X

Breath!

I’m hideously superstitious. I believe that stuff can’t come into the house. So buy the stuff and get it delivered to your MIL. X

OP posts:
Dspx · 09/07/2020 21:46

@Onekidnoclue my partner suggested that and I agreed with my mum it would go to hers (more room ) but then thought I was being silly might call them and change the delivery tomorrow thank you if it wasn’t a £500 saving I would have just waited but for that price and to get it paid for by someone else we couldn’t say no x

Onekidnoclue · 09/07/2020 21:49

I know exactly what you mean. It’s so tough as I’m madly superstitious. I didn’t want to buy anything for DS until he was born and made a list on amazon for my DH to buy everything on prime as soon as he was there. DH decided this was batshit mental and just ignored me!!

OP posts:
Dspx · 09/07/2020 21:53

Yea it’s so hard because I’m a massive control freak so want to be really prepared but also don’t want to buy anything. Thank you for talking me down I might actually sleep now x

Onekidnoclue · 09/07/2020 22:12

I’m a mega control freak and pregnancy is shit for it. Tbh so are newborn babies! It’s so hard not knowing and not being in control. I hate the fact there’s not one definite ‘right’ way to do stuff. I like rules and order - I’m so much fun 😂😂😂

Dspx · 10/07/2020 07:26

@Onekidnoclue i know what you mean. Just checked my delivery details and estimated delivery is 7-18th August and our scan is 19th so won’t be here as early as I thought less worried now lol x

SkylinesTurnstiles · 10/07/2020 08:10

Ahh I get what you guys are saying about superstitions..!
Mine is more about telling people, it feels like every time I tell someone we're expecting, the more likely something bad is gonna happen! Stupid I know!

Onekidnoclue · 10/07/2020 08:28

I think pregnancy is terrible for superstitions. Theres so much unknown and so little you can do that it makes me obsessed with all the mad superstitious stuff just in case.

Anyone had issues with drinking enough water and other liquids? Any tips that could help me? Not being sick or nausea just not drinking as much x
