Hi all.Was just wanting a little advise on my isuue!
Baby's due on Sat,whether it arrives then or not! If no joy then i see my consultant on Mon.He will do a stretch and sweep to see if that gets things going,if not i will have to be booked in for a c-section,cos my ds was an emergency c-section(had pre-eclamsia)and they did try for 3 days prior to c-section to get things going,3 lots of prostin, membrane sweep, breaking waters...
So they told me they would not induce me this time they would just do sweep.Very worried things will end up c-section again.Baby seems very happy in there and not sure he wants to come out!
Tried lots to try and get things going.
But hey!one of the many joys of having a baby!!!

Do you have any complications this time round?

There's no need for them to rush you if not. If i go overdue this time, i'm putting the sweep off until almost 2wks after due date.

You'll get him out eventually- hopefully as nature intended!

Go for a long walk and come back to rhubarb and custard.
Take a raspberry leaf tablet and have curry for tea.
Next day have the rhubarb and a walk again and then beup all night contracting.

What happened to me anyway.

i had a very similar experience with my first and am now 8 months pregnant with second. Have opted for an elective c section cause I don't want to go through the traumatic experience of 3am emergency section after 5 days of induced labour.
My thought process is that elective c is better then emergency c.

On the other hand there are loads of different things that are supposed to get things moving - have you tried Lavender Oil. There was a thread on here recently that listed different methods!

Hi CJ

Sorry you had such a tough time last time - not surprised you're fed up. I'm not quite in the same situation, as am expecting my first, but am also due Saturday and also no sign whatsoever of LO wishing to emerge so can emphathise as far as that's concerned. having said that, I finished ante-natal classes on Tues last week with two ladies who were both due last weekend and, although neither had had any "signs" at that stage, one gave birth last Thurs, and the other on Sunday. So maybe there's some hope.

Very best of luck - hope it goes ok for you and at least there's a bit of time before next Monday - don't know if you've seen but there's a thread around about the effectiveness of stretch and sweeps which I saw yesterday (as booked for one on Monday 8th if no sign...) which is interesting.

Will keep fingers crossed for you.

Due on Sat and no sign of baby coming? Of course not! You don't always get days of warning. Could be any day but you might wake up Sat morning and have a baby by teatime. Good luck.

i've had no complications this time round, which is good.
Has anybody tried nipple stimulation to get things going? I have but i get very strong tightenings aroung my bump, but they will stop soon after i stop stimulating them.

I have heard you have to do the nipple thing for at least 15 minutes at a time.

empen · 26/09/2007 17:22

I am desperate to get this baby out and gte my body back - I feel like a whale and am getting fed up of people telling me how BIG I am!!!!

cj1001 · 26/09/2007 17:31

Its a good theory.

The lady behind the counter in Barclays Bank is pregnant and I asked her when she was due - she said 5th November. I said Oh I am due on the 11th. She said 'Oh you are massive compared to me' I really thought she should have been more sensitive being pregnant too. Obviously she is not experiencing the same hormone inbalance as I am!

chunkypudding · 26/09/2007 19:50

am sure i read somewhere that you're only supposed to stimulate one nipple at a time else it can freak the baby out... or have i just had a very weird dream at some point???
