@coconutseverywhere aw that is really clear!! And I can imagine when you could see baby's heart beat it was just amazing. Also nice that have you have that picture up now makes it feel even more real.

I think we will definitely book now I'll give them a call to get booked in for next week. It's just such a shame my partner can't join me at the 12 week scan definitely want us to be together the first time we get to see our little baby!

How have your symptoms been? I've been suffering morning sickness and a few headaches. Luckily I'm working from home, but I have quite a high pressured job and I'm finding it hard to keep on top of everything when needing regularly breaks to rest. I think I'm going to have to see how I go over this next week then consider telling my boss xx

coconutseverywhere · 15/07/2020 12:48

@jbx10 Yay, I think that's a really good idea :) Definitely makes it feel more real, and was so reassuring. I agree, it's really sad that fathers can't go to the 12 week scans at the moment. I'm waiting for my appointment letter, expect it will be in 2-3 weeks and waiting to see whether the rules change... but I'm the same as you, it was so special to see that together for the first time, especially with it being our first baby, so it was well worth getting the private scan.

Sorry you've been struggling, I used to work in a high-pressured job and can't imagine trying to do that while pregnant! I've been really lucky and not had much sickness at all, just queasy now and then. I have been finding myself feeling weak/slightly faint at times. I actually told my box at 5 weeks when we found out, because they were wanting me to go into the office and I didn't want to do that when I found out about the baby! Hopefully you feel you can tell your boss soon and they give you plenty of support :)

jbx10 · 15/07/2020 14:09

@coconutseverywhere we've just had our 12 week appointment through for 11th August! So excited just need to try focus my mind on something else so I'm not wishing the time away but just help but be excited for the scan.

Oh gosh your so lucky! I hope you carry on with minimal symptoms it's just awful - I've been feeling like I'm falling at the first hurdle this passed week. Not feeling up to eating much when all I want to do is eat healthily but I'm just not up to it. Dry toast & hot water it is for me at the moment 😂 keep telling myself I'm not ill I'm pregnant and I just need to get on with it.

Have you told any family members yet? Xxx

KL111 · 15/07/2020 14:40

Hi ladies! So glad to find this thread! I am also due in february. I’m 31 and this is our first child, currently 10W+ 2days.
I booked for a scan at 9 weeks so my husband could be there, it was amazing to see the heartbeat! & good to get reassurance as my nhs scan is only week 13, I dont think i could have waited that long!

Congratulations all ☺️ xx

coconutseverywhere · 15/07/2020 16:06

Hi @KL111 and congratulations :) We are only 1 day apart in that case, awesome! I don't know if I could have waited until 13 weeks either haha!

@jbx10 That sounds rough! Just remember to be kind to yourself, another way of looking at it would be 'you're not being a wimp, you're making a person!'

We told my family when we found out at 5 weeks. I figured that if I was telling my boss then I would also want my parents and sister to know! Also I thought that if something did go wrong then I would need their support. It's been lovely sharing progress with them too. We've not told my hubby's family yet - he wants to wait until the 12 week point, which is fair enough. Have you told any family yet?

jbx10 · 15/07/2020 16:29

Hi @KL111 congratulations!! Great to know you found the private scan worthwhile, you have both definitely swayed me so I will be booking.

@coconutseverywhere yes your right, some days I'm productive some days I'm not and that's probably just inevitable so I'll try not to get so frustrated with myself! We found out at 4+3 days and kept it to ourselves until this weekend, just told my mum & my partners parents. I'm going to try and hold off telling anyone else until the 12 week (or at least my 10week private scan) but it's so hard when it's so exciting!! My friends will guess in a heartbeat too if they find out I've given up drinking 😂 xxx

coconutseverywhere · 15/07/2020 16:40

@jbx10 Yay I'm glad we have swayed you :-D Haha I know what you mean... finally spent a weekend with my sister a week ago when lockdown restrictions eased, and she 100% would have known instantly when she saw I wasn't drinking :-D

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 15/07/2020 16:44

Hi ladies, can I join please? I was on another Feb 21 group but it seems to have gone dead. I am 9+1, due date 16th Feb. I had a scan last week at exactly 8 weeks and cried when I saw the heartbeat and tiny arms and legs!! I have had 2 missed miscarriages before this pregnancy so my anxiety is through the roof. With my kissed miscarriages I started spotting at 9+3 and 9+4 so I think if I can make it to 10 weeks with no spotting this time, I will feel more relaxed. Currently worrying as I have had lots of cramping since Saturday, although no blood thank god.
Below is a picture of my scan - head on the left and you can just about make out tiny limbs! My 12 week scan is in just over 2 weeks when I will be 11+2 and I just know it is going to drag!

jbx10 · 15/07/2020 19:30

@SpunBodgeSquarepants aww I'm loving seeing the scan photos I really wasn't expecting them to show much at the early stages. I bet seeing the heart beat is just so amazing I'm so excited now for our early scan. Sorry to hear about your previous experiences, I can understand why you would be having high anxiety but you will make it through this next week to get you to the 10th week 😇

Xxx

coconutseverywhere · 16/07/2020 21:14

Hi @spunbodgesquarepants and congratulations :) Sorry to hear what you've been through, I'm really happy you had a successful scan and everything is going ok :)

Got my letter through today for my scan - 3rd August! I'll be 12+6... on the one hand seems like ages away but on the other hand I will feel well and truly safe to tell people assuming all is well at the scan :)

jbx10 · 17/07/2020 08:24

@coconutseverywhere yayy!! 6th August is not far away at all it'll be here before you know it then as you say you'll be able to tell all your friends and family the amazing news!! 😊😊

We have our private scan 1st August I'll be 10+5, then NHS scan 11th August exactly 12weeks. Xxxx

coconutseverywhere · 17/07/2020 10:46

@jbx10 Oh brilliant, I'm so glad you got booked in :) That's nice timing as well because you only have a few weeks to wait until your private scan, and then only another few weeks until your 12 week one :) It'll be really special for your partner to be there the first time you see your baby too!

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 21/07/2020 23:32

You've all gone a bit quiet, but I just wanted to drop in and tell you that I've just found baby's heartbeat on my doppler! I'm 10 weeks today and since 8+4 my symptoms have all but disappeared so I was preparing myself for the worst for my 12 week scan next Thursday. Feeling much more positive now!

jbx10 · 22/07/2020 06:11

@SpunBodgeSquarepants aww wow!! Was it easy to use/find? I was looking into buying one too, where did you get yours from? Not long now until your scan 😬😬 xxx

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 22/07/2020 09:10

@jbx10 Took 2 mins to find, I was surprised as I have a lot of extra 'padding' (bmi is 45) Can't remember where I bought the doppler - got it when I was pregnant with DS 7 years ago!

jbx10 · 22/07/2020 12:00

@SpunBodgeSquarepants that is so good that you were able to hear the heart beat so quickly! I think I'm going to order one, I've had morning sickness quite bad since around 5 weeks but it has really eased off this week. I was like you and worried about the lack of symptoms (which I know sounds silly!) but just can't help it. Then my sickness came back again yesterday but nothing today. So maybe it is just slowly easing off now I'm 9+1. 10 days until my private scan 😬😬

017HF · 23/07/2020 20:28

Hello everyone, I’m due mid February with my second child. I had no pregnancy symptoms at all with my first child but this has been the complete opposite, pretty much every textbook early pregnancy symptom - been fortunate that I was furloughed from work since March but am starting back from home on Monday so hoping the constant nausea and exhaustion subsides slightly! Have also convinced myself that I must be having twins as my stomach already feels huge but I’m aware it’s likely just bloating! Had my booking appointment last week and midwife was lovely, 12 week scan on 4 Aug so hoping my partner can come as this will be his first child so would be a shame if he missed out, although we will likely get a private one if that’s the case! Hope you’re all good x

jbx10 · 24/07/2020 08:28

Hi @017HF ! Welcome to the group 😇
Lucky that you've been off work hopefully that will have been for the worse of your symptoms. I've been working from home through having bad morning sickness & tiredness, but been able to sneak for a nap on my lunch/breaks!
I'm 9+4 and since turning 9 weeks my symptoms have eased quite a bit. We've booked a private scan for next week so my partner & I can be at the first one together. Doesn't look like our hospital is changing the rules anytime soon for antenatal care 😭 x

jbx10 · 12/08/2020 09:03

Hi everyone! Post has gone quiet so thought I'd check in, how is everyone doing?
We had our 12 week scan yesterday & have a very active baby. Cheeky little one wouldn't keep still! Keep looking at the photo trying to work out the nub theory now - count down to 20 week scan 😇 x

Peach1204 · 12/08/2020 15:19

@jbx10 yay for your scan. Mine is tomorrow - slightly worried about it. I'm so bloody hot! 37 degrees here so I think I'm just hot from that and tubbiness instead of pregnancy!

jbx10 · 13/08/2020 13:46

@Peach1204 try not to worry! Hope everything goes well with your scan today. I know the heat is definitely not ideal! Xxx

Peach1204 · 13/08/2020 16:53

@jbx10 thank you! Scan was amazing! Measuring to the same due date we worked out. Baby was being dramatic and had it's hand on its forehead 😂 relieved everything is going well so far. Xxx

jbx10 · 13/08/2020 16:59

@Peach1204 aww soo glad to hear everything went well! Isn't it funny how they are developing little personalities in there already! Xxx

Peach1204 · 13/08/2020 19:31

@jbx10 it is! Don't know if I can cope with a diva in real life! 😂 xxx
