Feeling baby bump for position

Heya does anyone know much about baby positioning in the bump? Was looking for general info about what the babys back or their limbs may feel like.

I have a little bump on the right side which I kinda guessed may have been a foot?

My bump is squishy atm but smooth and hard along top half of the bump. I think it means their back is at the front of my bump but probably wrong lol.

If it helps I know my placenta is at the back x

I'm a FTM so definitely don't know what I'm talking about!
However, I always seem to know my baby's position...verified whenever I see the midwife and she prods me to find the position, I always point to the head and get it right!
So for me it's two things...the head is really solid and bulbous and kind if heavier than the rest, so when she's sideways (often) I feel and look a bit lopsided. Also the strongest kicks are the feet I think, so you'll feel where those are. She kicks forwards so I can work out which way she's facing. Also sometimes punches upwards/forwards so I can work out where she's facing that way.
But it might be different for different bumps. Not sure where my placenta is, I was just told "high up".

My the third trimester I had a hard lump that would stick out which was her bum but you can often tell their position in tk e later stage by where you feel their hiccups, if it's down low they're head down and often you can tell by where you get feet sticking out xx

Jumping on this post cause I'm interested too. I get a big lump on one side at least once a day recently and it's very clearly my little mans bum sticking out 😂 xx

See I had a hard lump I assumed was bum but turns out after a scan the other day my baby is actually back to back and it's her little knees i can feel! 🙂

It depends how many weeks you are to but as a general rule of thumb in your third trimester, if you start at the top and work across until you find a rounded shape, that will usually be a bum (or head!). You can then work down from there and find where the back is. It will usually be the opposite side from where you feel most of your kicks. Little nobbly bits will be feet, knees, hands or elbows. When you find a little lump, gently roll your three middle fingers across it and you’ll probably be able to feel what shape it is.

I'm 33+4 and have not managed to figure it out at all. Everytime I think I've figured out the head or the bum, the midwife tells me it's something completely different!
Last week for example, i was convinced I was seeing/feeling baby's bum sticking out but went to my midwife appt and she said baby is back to back.

I'd love to be able to work this out! 29 + 2 with my first and I usually feel most bulk down low, getting kicks/punches at either side of my tummy! If only we could see what they get up to in there 🥰

I thought I could feel babies bum but it was his knees as well!

I can feel her head and one of her legs, some days I can grab hold of a foot on this leg. For a while she was curled up and I could feel her back too but she has since moved (thankfully as it was painful when she pushed her back out against my stomach muscles).
I had a head start as my midwife told me she was curled up and where her head was. I am 33 weeks and have been able to have a reasonable idea of where she is since 28 weeks.

If you're going to determine the position of baby from bump take your finding with a pinch of salt. My last baby was an undiagnosed breech with three midwives being unable to even determine that he was the wrong way around from external palpation.
