Hi, I'm 14 weeks + 3 days. I'm becoming more excited than I was but have been so anxious. I need to allow my head to believe that this is actually happening and the likelihood of something going wrong now is gratefully really low but I'm not there yet. Have had quite a few issues with bleeding (mostly brown, on 3 occasions red) throughout but they can't find a definite cause and everything has always been fine so I just need to hope that this will continue to be the case.

It's definitely a mixture of emotions! We tried for so long to get to this point I don't think I actually contemplated how I would feel once we got here.

Carabu1 · 29/06/2020 13:28

I’m 13+6 today! Tbh I mainly still feel anxious about it all - it’s my first, and I had fertility tests and treatment to get here and it still all feels too good to be true. I really hope once a proper bump appears it might start to feel real, but currently I feel like I’m in a kind of dream, and like it’s all happening to someone else. I hadn’t really expected though how much I have bonded in my mind with THIS baby - which is lovely, but again also makes me nervous. Hopefully we’ll all have lovely pregnancies and happy babies on the other side!

@penguin423 ah thats strange they haven't managed to find a reason behind the bleeding, at least its only been a few times, I've had bleeding throughout due to a hemorrhage so that's not been fun, and I know the cramps etc are it stretching but it still worries me, I'm trying to enjoy it but I think worry is all part of pregnancy? We've been waiting a long time too so I'll be glad for the next scan Smile

@Carabu1 I know what you mean some moments I gotta remind myself there is a real baby inside me, its all very strange and although I have had the morning sickness in other pregnancies this one was much stronger so have felt quite ill for ages, I hope we get to the glow stage soon

I'm 13+2! FTM. Feeling quite anxious still, even though had a scan at 12+3 and all was fine. Most of my nausea and symptoms have disappeared - how about you? Makes it hard to believe it's really growing in there! I know the risk is really low now - and of MMC even lower - but I can't find statistics for the latter and for some reason I'm terrified of it (no history of loss myself, but some friends who have gone through it).

We also told our friends on the weekend; which I was excited to do but has now made me feel like I've jinxed it or something.

H8624 · 29/06/2020 14:05

I'm exactly 13 weeks today! Had my dating scan today which has finally made it seem real!

jzc28 · 29/06/2020 14:07

I got told I'm 13 weeks today - had my 12w scan thinking I was 12+3, but apparently not! I'm feeling much better, and have started being able to exercise again. FTM, starting to feel a bit more real after seeing little one snoozing away inside me today!

Sazzy312 · 29/06/2020 15:48

@jzc28 ah thats great, always nice to go forward a couple of days :) enjoy

Yeah I had a private scan the first time as it was tricky to get into EPU with current restrictions so that basically just told us that everything looked OK but i have since had 2 scans and investigations at the EPU where they've said they can't see anything worrying on the scans/with the investigations they've just said potential reasons but nothing has been clear. Everything looked good at the dating scan too at 13 weeks so just need to hope.

I'm sure the worrying is normal, I just wish it wasn't!! I am hoping once we can feel it moving it might help?

MrsJamieLWeir · 29/06/2020 16:37

Hey @Sazzy312 I’m technically 13+1 if going of my last period but when I was in hospital I was measuring 10 day’s smaller so can’t wait for my scan next week to confirm! I’ve been really poorly but FINALLY starting to feel a little better (still relying on anti sickness meds) but just so tired all the time. Hopefully this gets better soon! How are you feeling?

This is also our first and a mix of excitement and scared! We’ve just agreed a sale on our house and had an offer accepted on one so gonna be moving at some point too 🙈🙈😂

When’s your due date?

Xx

Sazzy312 · 29/06/2020 16:49

@MrsJamieLWeir mine is due 3rd of Jan it was 7th but at the scan they have bought me forward and it sort of fits with my symptoms so thats good, I'm definitely having a wobble today but I'll get over it I always feel worried when I feel cramp but in a way thats more of a good sign its growing and stretching so I should be happy about it, so your scan is next week and you should be 14 weeks but could be a bit behind? Hmm did they say why? Maybe you ovulate late? I have short cycles so not surprised mine is a bit ahead, good luck with all the house moving talk about everything happening at once lol

Sazzy312 · 29/06/2020 16:57

@penguin423 well at least it hasn't affected baby and they are keeping an eye on you, hopefully the bleeding will just clear up on its own, yeah when it moves at least you'll know its alive but then I was reading a chat about movement and the mums were worrying about how much or how little baby moves! So I think it's just a constant worry, I'm taking it day by day and trying to remind my self its a privilege and blessing to have this little person growing inside me 🥰

Are you ladies planning on getting a private scan between your 12 and 20 weeks? I have an anterior placenta so unlikely to feel movement before 20 weeks and think I might go mad without one!!

Goldings28 · 29/06/2020 17:54

I am 13 wks today ! Had an awful first dating scandal experience and ended up going private on Saturday so relieved .

Sazzy312 · 29/06/2020 18:23

Not sure, its a shame my partner can't come to the 20 weeks scan so may have a private one before but will see how it goes

OP posts:
Sazzy312 · 29/06/2020 18:33

@Goldings28 oh no sorry to hear you had a bad experience, but glad the private one was better and you got to see baby :)
