Stem cell harvesting from the cord

Hi all
I am 13 weeks pregnant and have an auto immune disease. I have been looking in to having the baby’s cord blood and cells harvested to be stored for stem cell treatments as they are doing so much work with these now and my condition is currently going through trails for treatment using this.
They say it’s not genetic but you never know. Was just wondering if anyone had any experience or thoughts on the stem cell harvesting partner thinks it’s a bit of a scam and it is very expensive over £3000 then £100 every year but I’m of the attitude it could save our child’s life one day god forbid they have to use them so there is no price limit all opinions welcome xx

We donated ours the first time but I’d never considered we would need it just hope if enough people donate and join the register it’s available for all. I guess if I considered we would actually need it, it’s not much money so wouldn’t hesitate. The second time we went to donate the labour was more tricky and there was a very small delay which meant they couldn’t take it which I thought was sad at the time but would have been horrible if I’d had any need for it. I’d go into it with an open mind that they can’t always collect it so you’re not disappointed if it doesn’t work out.

Delayed cord clamping is a free and effective way of maximizing baby's stem cell supply straight out of the womb. I told them not to clamp cord for half hour after birth x
