Braxton hicks

So I'm 32 weeks tomorrow, boobs have started leaking a week or so ago, have had a couple of mild episodes of what I assumed was Braxton hicks, felt like periody type cramps on and off, then yesterday I had them all day but much more intense with the lower back ache going down my bum on and off, not getting anymore painful or more frequent So was satisfied it was just BH, today my back is still killing and I feel completely exhausted and hard to specify but just generally a bit off! I have an overwhelming feeling that I'm going to go early (which I've had from the start) does anyone have any stories of similar where you have ended up having a premie or in fact going until the end/late? I know 'having a feeling' isn't scientific in anyway but intuition in pregnancy is a thing isn't it? TIA! ❤️

I had exactly this op, and a lot of woman I know have had the same, i believe it is pretty 'normal' around 32 weeks for all of this to happen.
I was examined at 37 weeks but there was no signs of readiness, I had a Csection at 38 due to other medical reasons.
Talk to your midwife next time if you're worried Smile
Good luck op!

Thanks @GAW19 I'm seeing the midwife on Monday so will ask her, I know people do get these things early on it's just yesterday it went on so long and so strong I really felt like something was about to happen! Fingers crossed I'm wrong and they stay put for now!

I had what I assume was Braxton Hicks at 34+4. Started at 2am & was really intense until 6/7am, then it eased off and was more like uncomfortable cramping for the rest of the day. I'm 37+4 now and haven't had any repeat episodes since so hopefully that'll be the same for you.

I was confused because when I googled Braxton Hicks they said they could be slightly uncomfortable but not painful, however mine lasted over 4 hours straight, coming in waves of 5 minutes and there was no way I could lie down in bed throughout them, let alone try and sleep! I mentioned it to the midwife through & she didn't seem too concerned, just said some people get them like that

Hi @Sorbet18 thanks for the reply, mine sounds very similar, I was confused too as mine definitely weren't painless! But good news it's been a one off for you and you are nice and near the end 🤞🏼 that's put my mind at rest x

Yea I was worried because I was in a lot of pain, paracetamol didn't touch it, and when I googled it, it kind of sounded like actual contractions as they were intensifying every 5 minutes or so and lasting for about a minute.

I mentioned it to 2 midwifes and neither seemed particularly concerned, just asked if I'd had any other symptoms which I hadn't. So I'm thinking maybe it's just one of those things some people get. Hopefully like me, you won't have anything like it again until nearer your due date

Fingers crossed @Sorbet18 I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow so will tell her and get a check over and but at least I know that it's not unheard of to have them this early and nothing else happen xx
