Hey. We got told by our doctor to do these blood tests to cover all sorts of dna traits for the baby. Including chromosomes etc ..... it costs £900 so I'm wondering does everyone do this ?

Would be great to know if there are any dna issues but is it necessary?

Do you mean a private doctor advised this?

I did the SAFE NIPT test, it cost £350. It just tests for the three conditions that the NHS combined test does (downs syndrome and the other two). You can get NIPT tests for many other conditions but Im not sure if its worthwhile. The rarity of those conditions doesnt stack up with the accepted margin of error on the test.

What tests exactly were recommended and why?
