West Midlands Dula & Hypno / Positive Birthing

Hi folks,

I'm posting on behalf of a friend who doesn't have a mumsnet account as she is keeping off her phone at the mo during her pregnancy. 2 Questions at the very bottom Smile

Please could anyone point us in the right direction. She is currently pregnant and I am planning (with my other half) to try for a baby from next year onwards after our wedding. I follow the positive birthing company on instagram just out of interest and the more and more I read and hear about positive or hypno-birthing I am definitely leaning more towards this method / plan for whenever I fall pregnant. I recently told my friend about this as she has been feeling very anxious and worried about labour, pregnancy etc so I have purchased the book for her as a gift but its not arrived yet. This is her first baby and when we try next year it will be my first too.

Our questions are:

  1. does anyone know of a dula or positive / hypno birth gudiance in the west midlands? We don't personally know anyone here and really want to learn more and be able to connect with somewhere ober this neck of the woods.

  2. Have you had a positive / hypno birth and/or Dula? What was your experience? How much did it cost? Was it worth the money. Any guidance would be of great help.

The West Midlands is a pretty big region but Birthability are great and cover Solihull and Birmingham.

@YippieKayakOtherBuckets thank you for this. sorry I should have been more specific on location. We are both from Dudley area so we are looking for anywhere surrounding such as Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, kidderminster, West Bromwich areas.

Sorry, I can't help with that area then. The women at Birthability are absolutely lovely and I'm sure would know of some services in your area if you were to ask them.
