Hi all,

Just a quick one, I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have gained 10lbs. Is this normal? or too high too low.
I don't want to gain loads of weight my biggest fear but surly having 11 weeks left I shouldn't gain much more? Help

I wish that's all I've gained so far!!!
I'm 26 weeks and gained 27lb to date!
I'd say you're doing exceptionally well!
Unlike myself who is slowly turning into a giant melon!!😂

It varies a lot from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy.
I'm over 18 weeks and have gained nothing so far.
You might gain 1lb a week in your last trimester (or you may not)
As long as your baby is growing well it doesn't matter.

It depends on your weight before you become pregnant. If you're bmi is low, you should gain more than someone with a high bmi.

A lot of it depends on your BMI at the start - a higher BMI tends to suggest you’ll gain less than a person with a low BMI.

An obese person might not gain much at all, whereas an underweight person might gain a lot. There’s no rules of course, we’re all different

Try and eat lots of good stuff as well as the bad! Get some fresh fruit and veg every day and lots of protein like eggs beans or meat.

I started off with a BMI of 24. Am now 31 weeks and have only gained 3kg (about 6lbs). Baby on 50th centile on scans.

Everyone is different - don’t worry too much!

Similar to @Anaesthetist83 - started off with healthy BMI, 31 weeks pregnant and gained probably 12/13 lbs so far.

Baby is around 30-40th centile which is pretty good considering my small frame, and everything seems really healthy with baby.

This is something which worried me a lot until recently and is just not worth stressing over, especially if midwife is happy!

I have tried to make an effort to eat a bit more (healthy stuff) in recent weeks too, so it's something you could try if you're still worrying. You might be unaware of how many calories you're consuming. I think weight gain is pretty random in pregnancy but it may make you feel more in control to get a few more calories in Smile x
