Flashing lights

This is my third pregnancy. In my previous pregnancies I've had high blood pressure (but barely over the threshold of what counts as high blood pressure if that makes sense). I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant and had a midwife appointment last week and my blood pressure was fine. In my previous pregnancies it had been noticed by now.
The thing is, for the last couple of days I've been seeing a flashing light. It's like I see the glint of the light on someone's watch or a car driving past the window but no obvious source in real life. It's happened two or three times a day for the last couple of days. Right now I'm putting my daughter to bed with the black out curtains drawn and the lights off and it's happened again.
I know this sounds really stupid but if this what they mean when they say to call the midwife about flashing lights. I always assumed it would be more pronounced (like someone setting off fire works sort of things) or am I just being paranoid. I have no other obvious symptoms of preeclampsia like headaches etc.

I had pre-eclampsia with no symptoms beyond the proteinuria and the blood pressure.

Is there anyone who could stay with your daughter tonight should you call MAU and they want you to go in to be checked? I think with your history of BP I'd definitely phone MAU tonight, and get you checked out either tonight or tomorrow.

You definitely need to go in and get checked.

It may be something non-pregnancy related e.g. detached retina. I would advise seeing a doctor rather than a midwife so that you can get an eye examination if needed. 111 is probably your best option at the weekend.

Visual disturbance is a sign of pre-eclampsia. You need to call your maternity unit tonight for advice. (I'm a midwife)
