CONSTANTLY hungry!

Is anyone else experiencing this?? It's starting to drive me a bit mad. I'm 8 weeks today and have spent the last 3 weeks eating everything that wasn't nailed down! I regularly get this sort of queasy sick-hungry feeling, and have to snack on something quickly or else I feel as if I'm going to throw up. I've only actually thrown up a couple of times so far, but I feel nauseous soo often, basically unless I'm actively eating. It's like there's this narrow window of time for me to eat something to make it go away, including in the evening when I wouldn't normally snack. Seems to be every few hours! I'm trying to stick with healthier food but it's tricky when food prep itself tends to make me nauseous...
A) Does this go away??
B) Anyone else in the same boat? Snacking tips appreciated!

Totally normal I believe! If I don't feed that hunger (an hour after a huge meal) I feel sick. Like the kind of sick when you've woken up so hungry that you're ravenous and feel sick. I don't have any snacking tips as my food aversions are crazy right now, what I like now I won't like tomorrow. The hunger for me started at about week 9, I'm currently 12+1 and no sign of it stopping yet. Maybe try and have some healthy snacks, veg sticks and houmous perhaps instead of crisps or biscuits (which is what I fancy about now!)

I'm 11 weeks and don't have nausea but I have been really hungry. I seem to go through particularly severe patches where I get a really empty feeling in my stomach, like there's a hole being gnawed in it! Sometimes it wakes me up in the middle of the night. One day I had 3 breakfasts and was still hungry 😂

So good to know I'm not alone! Yes some days I end up feeling like a hobbit - second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon snack...!

Yes I had this, eating was the only thing that kept the sickness at bay. When I reached the second trimester it got loads better and now I'm 17 weeks my appetite is completely back to normal

devildeepbluesea · 26/06/2020 18:45

That is EXACTLY my experience. And yes, it did eventually go away at about 14 weeks.

Nearly 27 weeks and still eating! Other than the odd day when I didn't feel well I've not stopped and doubt I will stop until baby turns up (said as she polishes off a slice of cake 😂)
Rock on! 👍🏻 😂

I'm 10 weeks and have also been really hungry. Including waking up in the night with my stomach feeling so empty it's painful (same as you, @MissHoney85!). I think you have to go with it and eat when you need to. I think I'm eating slightly smaller meals so hoping it's balancing out a little.

I find fruit, raw veg + hummus, breadsticks, weetabix and milk, crackers and marmite or cream cheese, banana and natural yoghurt with a little honey all work for me. I also got some graze snack packs from Aldi (crunchy dried pulses and nuts). I think you just have to try and go for healthier options when you can. Even if they aren't very low calorie at least they're providing more nutrients and hopefully will keep you fuller for longer than something sugary (although I'm also eating more than my fair share of chocolate, biscuits and sweets!).!)

I've been pretty feeling hungry / sick I've been grazing throughout the day on nuts and snacks jacks etc seems to make me feel a bit better than my usual meals x

Hummingbird82 · 26/06/2020 19:18

I remember this, I'm 36 weeks now and I think it was something that slowly improved over the weeks. I still have food aversions even now (have eaten chocolate since week 5) but just be assured it does eventually get better!

Hummingbird82 · 26/06/2020 19:19

haven't*

I'm 9 weeks and I feel exactly the same. I'm not worrying though - Better then being sick! I can not get enough of cheerios though!

I’m 7w+3 and a hunger/nausea cycle kicked in a couple of days ago! Only a couple of days in so may all change but finding icy diet lemonade and apples quite nice and refreshing. Glad i told my manager to be honest as I think she would of otherwise raised eyebrows at me scoffing water biscuits, houmous and crisps at my desk all day today 😂🙈

slimshadyscousin · 27/06/2020 11:45

I could have written this myself! Absolutely starving all the time - when I don’t feed myself I start to feel sick. I wish I could eat more healthily but all I want is bland or sugary food so just leaning into it for now.
