Hi everyone
I had my scan today as picture. The lady said heartbeat was there and it was at early scan at 7 weeks. However the baby didn't move at all so she couldn't do the measurements. I went for walk and wiggled but nothing... should I be worried? Does scan look ok?

What did the sonographer tell you? If she wasn't worried then there's no need for you to be worried either. I had my 12 week scan two days ago and I didn't see baby move either, but that isn't anything to worry about. They go through periods of activity and periods of rest, and you just happened to catch a period of rest is all.

To my untrained eye, your pic looks perfect and beautiful, congrats.

The baby may not have moved position in order to get all measurements but may have moved arms or legs. Even if not I’m sure it’s fine, they were probably sleeping.

If I remember rightly the report will usually state something like fetal movement detected/not detected

Congrats!

It doesn't say about movement but says heartbeat present..I'll try and relax as sonographer and midwife said all was fine so am sure if anything wasmt they would have told me xx

If the sonographer wasn't worried then either should you be..... you might just be lucky to have a sleepy baby (which bodes well for the future) or they might just have been having a lazy day.

Hi @Laurend0603

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I am due to have my 12 week scan next week and am looking forward to it.

I have already had 3 scans (5w, 7w and 10w) - all were to rule out complications.
At 5w, I saw nothing but the pregnancy sac, at 7w, I saw baby and heartbeat, although at 7w baby didn't look much like a baby and no movement was detected (probably too early on in the pregnancy at this stage).

At 10w, baby was laying with her back to us so all we saw was a tiny spine and the back of her head. No movement was detected, but we heard the heartbeat. The sonographer did some manoeuvring with the ultrasound wand and this seemed to "wake baby up" as she eventually turned onto her back so we got a nice side view of her. A little later on in the scan she moved her little arms and legs a bit.

I think there's a lot to be said for the skill of the sonographer. Our last scan, which was the 10w one was a private scan at the Fetal Medicine Centre. The appointment was longer than I expected, which was great and she made a great deal of effort to encourage baby to change positions.
Your 12 week scan is to check for issues - I'm sure, if the sonographer suspected any issues, they will have raised them.

I also think we are all different and so are our babies. They have periods of activity along with periods of rest. Your baby was probably resting or just not feeling very active at that particular moment.
I wouldn't worry. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to base your pregnancy experience on any one elses. We are all different.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy x
