I didn't eat al my Chinese last night so was going to have it today, I'm not going to eat the rice as I know you have to careful with the bacteria in that but if I make sure the rest is piping hot from the microwave - will it be ok? I'm 26 week pregnant.

Was it refrigerated in between?

Tbh I probably would when not pregnant but wouldn’t when pregnant. I think a lot of takeaway food is cooked then reheated to order so it has already been reheated once, so you reheating it would be the second time.

Zhampagne · 26/06/2020 12:52

I would.

Camomila · 26/06/2020 12:54

I would with veggie food (pizza, veggie curry) but not meat or rice, but I know my local takeaway cooks the food fresh while you wait.

SpillTheTeaa · 26/06/2020 12:56

I wouldn't

Shelley54 · 26/06/2020 13:01

I did this through both pregnancies. Whether you see it as a risk or not is up to you.

LoveSunshine01 · 26/06/2020 13:03

I just did for lunch.

20viona · 26/06/2020 13:04

Go for it I would.

BeMorePacific · 26/06/2020 13:14

I’ve done it, and all has been fine x x

CoalCraft · 26/06/2020 13:19

I would and indeed have, including rice. I always refrigerate in between, heat thoroughly and only eat it the next day, not the day after or so on.

Daisysandviolets · 26/06/2020 14:28

Thanks ladies, it's been refrigerated over night. I might microwave it and then make a decision and worst case just eat the vegetarian bits!

I am vegetarian and would do this and have done this. Have reheated rice too, as long as rice hasn’t been left out at room temp and has been refridgerated, and then heated up properly (I make sure mines piping hot) then u are fine with rice.

Elmo230885 · 26/06/2020 15:23

I would. Re heated takeaway is the best. I'm a vegetarian though so wouldn't like to comment on re heating meat.

Northernsoullover · 26/06/2020 15:26

If you cool rice quickly its ok to reheat. I have always reheated my rice from the Chinese takeaway but its always on my mind was it freshly cooked so I probably wouldn't risk it while pregnant.
