Bumps!!

Hi! I'm 14+4 and a FTM. Just been thinking - I feel like my bump gets so much smaller in the morning. I actually feel like when I'm not bloated it's hardly there! I feel like I was bigger weeks ago! Does anyone else get this? Some mornings I'll wake up and there's hardly anything there! I've had 2 scans which have been fine and show the baby is growing - it just feels like I should be feeling more of a solid bump now rather than one that fluctuates? Is this normal?!

Normal!

I didn't show properly for a while after 14 weeks as a FTM - 14 weeks is quite early and it was mostly bloat for me! I'm 27 weeks now and I still notice my bump is smaller in a morning before I've eaten and bloated and baby has woken up and uncurled himself

At that early on I think I could only feel a solid bump when I lay down on my back and really needed a wee first thing in the morning!

I felt like my bump shrank in general around that time (or maybe a bit before) then reappeared higher up! I think it was changeover between bloat and bump but god knows! Mine is also bigger at night.

Hi OP, that's completely normal for a first pregnancy..... it's definitely just bloat for the first 3-4 months at least.

I got a tiny bump about 16/17 weeks or so but could still hide it pretty easily for ages after that - i was in hospital around 29 weeks and had a non pregnancy related ultrasound. I was lying down and the sonographer missed that I was pregnant in the notes so got a shock when she started scanning. She said she wouldn't have guessed I was pregnant at all!

I'm 33 weeks now and it's only just popped properly in the last couple of weeks.

Ahh thank you! I just keep googling pictures of 14 week bumps and obviously finding massive ones! Need to step away from the phone 😂!

@kidsareok people show much sooner in subsequent pregnancies.
FTM's take longer to show. Baby is still teeny tiny at 14 weeks.

This is such a relief - I’m nearly 14 weeks, ftm, and I have nothing really to look at - I thought I did last week but it went away, so probably just bloat. I find it quite worrying - no symptoms, no bump, and even though 12 week scan was fine I keep stressing something has gone wrong and baby isn’t growing. As you say, bumps online don’t help - makes me feel more paranoid, ha.

Definitely - it was only when I got to 19/20 weeks that I looked 'pregnant' most of the time, rather than just looking bloated some of the time, and the 'bloated' look tended to happen in the afternoon/evening.

I'm 15+2. Last week my belly felt massive but it was pure bloat! It's definitely settled down a bit. It looks a little bigger than pre pregnancy but nothing anyone would notice
