Paternity pay

My partner is being made redundant on Tuesday - baby was originally arriving Friday so he missed out on paternity pay by a few days. Baby is now arriving Tuesday (all being well) so my partner will still be working for the company albeit it would have been his last day. Does this mean he can now get paternity pay?

I don't know the in's and out's but if you're in the UK then ACAS will be able to advise you, good luck x

I think it would depend if his type of employment and how long he has been at the company

Thank you. I’ve tried google and the mind boggles. I will call ACAS today :)

Partner will of course speak to his manager too but doesn’t work Fridays.

He has worked for the company for just over 3 years and is employed. We have the letter confirming his paternity would start on 7th July or on the babies date of birth.

Are you asking if he’ll get 2 weeks pat pay on top of notice period?

Itsgottobethisone · 26/06/2020 09:41

Just wondered if they’d have to honour his paternity leave as it will have stated during his time in employment at the company and he fills all the other criteria.

If he’s being made redundant as of Tuesday is that his last working day Or is he on garden leave or being paid in lieu of notice? Tbh there’s quite a few ways to answer this until he/you know more details. I would wait until he’s asked his manager.

He’s still working for the company. His last day is Tuesday 30th June but at my hospital appointment yesterday doctors bought forward my c section to the same day so he won’t be going in now although it will be his last official day with the company and he will have worked up to his redundancy apart from his last day (hope that makes sense) x

I don't know but Maternity Action might have some relevant information.
