Labour or Braxton Hicks?

Hello

I am 39w exactly. Since about 5pm this evening I've had regularish pains. On average every 10 minutes lasting about 1 minute. The pain is like period pains but comes in a wave, it hasn't really got any worse since it started. I have to breathe through and stand up and rock, it's about a 6.5/10 pain wise I'd say. Pain is in uterus and feels like I need to poo

The pain seems to be worse when I'm sitting or lying down. It can be caused by the baby moving. If I sit on the loo or sit up in bed it makes the pain continue for longer than 1 min.

I don't know if it's relevant but obviously it's really hot and I have drank a lot this evening (probably four pints of water since 5.30 and a big glass of apple juice plus ice lollies) and have barely peed and pee was very yellow.

Is this labour or BH? Should I put thr TENS machine on? Any tips for getting to sleep or am I dreaming there 🤣 I am shattered already!

Thanks so much for any info. Scary times!

Definitely sounds like the start of early labour, Braxton Hicks are meant to be painless. I remember having irregular period like aches about an hour or two before it all kicked off :) fingers crossed for you OP

Thank you for the reply @annlee3817 yes it has turned out to definitely be labour!! At about 2.30am it ramped up to 1min contractions every 3 mins and I had a bloody show so have since called the hospital.

Fingers crossed its quick and easy from here on in (I should be so lucky Grin)
