Moderate hydronephrosis

Hi
I posted about dilated kidneys at 20 wk scan a few weeks ago (I'm now 23wks + 5). We have had another scan since and our baby has been diagnosed with moderate hydronephrosis. We have another scan in 2 weeks and have to see the paediatrician then. They have scared us by saying that if the kidneys fail during pregnancy, there will not be sufficient amniotic fluid and the baby may not survive. If they both fail after birth, again, the baby will be 'incompatible with life' as the Dr sweetly put it. I don't know what the likelihood of either scenario is yet and I know this is the worst case scenario, but I just wondered whether anyone out there had been through this? I know that mild hydronephrosis is relatively common and often sorts itself out, but the Drs are being pretty cagey as this is more severe and have said they only see this once or twice a year.

Has anyone else experienced this condition?

Thanks.
