Am I okay sitting outside in the sun? I am 7 weeks pregnant, and I have read that sun can affect the baby and I have been sat outside. Can anyone give any advice as I know a lot of websites like to scaremonger.
Thank you.

Well you don't want to overheat or burn so don't overdo it. Shade between 11 and 3. Put suncream on

Yeah I have been. I came out about 2 and a half hours ago. I think I am just overthinking.

Be careful to not burn, overheat or dehydrate. Otherwise, think of it as some free vitamin D.

I read a post today on Facebook from an NHS maternity unit that said that babies in the womb are roughly one degree warmer than we are so if you let yourself get extremely hot then little one will be even hotter.

They didn't mention any specific problems it might cause but were just warning ladies not to get too hot and to stay hydrated etc. I think you'll be fine, just don't overdo it and drink lots of water 😊

Make sure that you are wearing high SPF. If you develop melasma it often never fully goes away.

You're fine op as long as you're wearing sun cream and don't get too hot, and drink lots of water. I sat out in the sun all day on every hot day right up until about 33 weeks and never did any harm. Can't handle it anymore though and have had to stay inside 😂
