Elective Section Before 39 Weeks

I'm 36 weeks, and due to various risks and my anxiety, I'm having to opt for what would be my first section. My previous children have all come before their due date, the last two were 10 and 11 days early, so I'm wondering whether it could be likely that I can ask to have my section in my 38th week, otherwise I risk going in to labour anyway and having to take on the risks I'm trying to avoid.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
I'd also love to hear any positive section stories, as it's really not what I would've chosen, but have accepted it is what it is.

Hi - you can always ask but it’s unlikely they’ll do before 39 weeks. Depends a little on the reason for the CS though, and perhaps on how fast your previous Labour were. Also depending on the reason for the CS it can actually be really good for baby to have a bit of early labour - gets baby a little more ready and decreases the chance of any breathing problems. All hospitals can cope with an emergency CS for a woman in labour but the time frame would be variable - it’s always been fine in my experience. Good luck either way!
