Pregnancy journal

Hi, this is my first post here. I’m 9 weeks pregnant and so happy to finally fall pregnant after years of trying (was just about to start ivf before lockdown and fell naturally). Since week 6 I’ve felt absolutely ill, tired, constantly nauseous and overall miserable. I decided that if I bought myself a nice bump to birthday journal I might feel more positive and excited. Now my journal has arrived and the task seems really daunting. Has anyone else kept a journal, what do you write? I would love some inspiration, it would be a dull and miserable read if every week I journal how I actually feel! 😂🤢 thanks xx

I went out to the shops around 10/12 weeks to buy a nice notebook specifically for writing about my pregnancy journey, planning to record my thoughts, symptoms, etc. That was January... and I haven't written in it once! Blush It's sitting beside my bed and since I'm now on furlough/holiday until my mat leave starts in July, I'm optimistic again that I'll write in it, but it's been a bit of a fail!

I've got a bump to birthday journal, and I am filling it in mostly as a scrap book type thing that I will be giving to my son when he is older. I have things in it that I have just kept throughout being pregnant, like the receipt from the first drink we went out for after we found out I was pregnant, the leaflet from the place we went for a walk at the other day, and lots of pictures of the things we've been getting up to, including pictures of my partner painting the sitting room, a picture of the little ones cupboard with all his baby stuff in, and pictures of all family members so when he looks back on it in the future he can see what all his family looked like when he was born (as he will only really know them as older than that).

So its all of those things, in chronological order!

Might sound a bit soppy and weird and he may not even be interested in, but I like it and I like putting something together knowing that I am doing it for him. For each picture/receipt/leaflet/parking ticket I write a little something like 'this is when we went for a walk in Leckampton Hills', 'this is your cupboard with all your things we got ready for you', 'this is the cat we had when you were a baby' etc.

WeescottishWife - I have a feeling I will be saying the same in a few months time! I keep staring at it and procrastinating. Maybe you will get the itch to complete it when you have more time.

Ursulasings - I actually hadn't thought of that and it's quite easy when you put it that way. Thank you! I'm not one for photos of myself and I'm waay too self conscious about my pre pregnancy weight but I love to see photos of bump getting bigger. Wish I was that confident. But photos of what's going on around me is a thought..
