How much liquid is too much liquid? Faint Clearblue

Hello,

sorry if in wrong place. i’m 22 next week and this week was supposed to be my period week. no period so far but took morning after pill about 3 weeks ago so I thought the delay might be that reason. but for two weeks i’ve been trying to jog and after 10 secs i feel so drained which is just unusual but I thought at the time maybe it’s because of lockdown my fitness has gone.

took a test today... the clearblue cross ... first just strong first line then after a while a faint second one but just half of the second line but very faint and a straight line in the little box... and i took this this morning had no breakfast/drink. ( I would show picture don’t know how on here...)

my pregnant friend said it’s better to do the test peeing in a cup and putting the stick in it....

i’m doing that tomorrow. but i’ve tried looking to see just how much liquid is too much liquid? the clearblue guild lines say drinking too much liquid can result in false positive... ive drank a fair bit today about 2-3 litres as i’ve went on a walk in something similar to like national trust forest and drinking a can of coke as we speak.... not sure if that’s too much liquid for tomorrow, does anyone on here know? i’ve been trying to find online but no answers so far.

Yes I need to see nurse/doctor ( not sure if i’ll be seen that fast enough since it’s still a lockdown and things aren’t that normal still) but just don’t want to be stressing over false positive tests

Most sources recommend using first morning urine as that is the most concentrated so I would try tomorrow morning if I was you.

Drinking too much dilutes your wee. So it can cause a false negative.
False positives are incredibly rare (almost impossible)
Wee in a cup and take it that way. It's much more controlled and you can be more confident in the result

Do you mean where it says this?

Another reason you may only see a faint positive is because you’ve drunk too much liquid

Because all that is saying is that the test IS positive but that the line is faint because the levels that indicate a positive pregnancy are diluted so the line in faint. Sorry if I’ve misunderstood but drinking lots doesn’t give a false positive.
BUT reading the test after the time stated can show an evaporation line so how long was it ‘after a while’ that you saw the second line? If it was over the test read time -ignore it.
However, if you were pregnant initially, the HCG that is measured to indicate pregnancy can stay in your system for a few weeks.
Try not to panic, take another test and make sure you read the test within the time stated.
