Tummy pain at 37 weeks

I am 37 weeks + 2. A couple of days a go I noticed my tummy was achy - thought I was just tired but that night I had bad period type cramps. Eventually I took a paracetamol and managed to go to sleep.

Last night I had pain again. Lower tummy and up across the top of my tummy. It didn't go away when I took the paracetamol but I did eventually get some sleep and it doesn't seem to have a pattern - it just aches.

Is this my body getting ready or something?

could be that you're having bh. tbh by 37-38 weeks you're so stretched in every direction your insides are jostling for position! i had all sorts of pains by that stage. constipation was also a problem for me too.

just take it easy for a couple of days, get all the rest you can while you can

good luck

Hi Stefka
I'm 35+4 and have been getting an achy bump for a good few weeks now on top of really painful BHs. Its mostly at the end of the day so I think its to do with the weight of the baby stretching and pulling everything. A support belt during the day might help.

It feels like bad period pain. I've been getting more BH too so maybe they are just getting painful.
