20 weeks and bleeding constantly from ectropian

Hi everyone, I just wondered if anyone has and advice or experience with this please. I’m 20 weeks pregnant and for over a week now I’ve bled bright red gushes of blood at least once a day and it’s becoming more frequent. I had a lletz procedure in 2009 and it caused no problems in my pregnancy that went to term 3 yrs ago. But they tell me each time I have a speculum that cervix is closed and the bleeding comes from a raw area on my cervix where I had the cells removed. Baby’s fine she’s kicking away ect. They can’t really say what’s going to happen but that it doesn’t look like I will go into labour from it yet. Has anyone had this much bleeding and it be ok? Or dealt with an erosion? They even tried to cauterise it which didn’t work last week. Sorry for the long and panicky post! Thanks everyone.

Are they sending you bank home each time you go in?
I can’t really offer the same experience but I’m 23+4 today and I have had two light bleeds that have been caused by a polyp, they have told me that even though it’s probably that if it bleeds again I must come back in every time to check so if you’re bleeding maybe best fo go back in?

Yes thanks for replying, they are sending me back home each time, I just have to ring and if the volume is more than usual I go in and get checked. They actually said last night I may have a polyp on my erosion now I come to think of it! Perhaps this is why it’s affecting me more in this pregnancy. They say it won’t affect baby but it’s definitely making me uneasy seeing all the blood. I hope yours doesn’t play up again

I was admitted yesterday at 26 weeks for the same thing! I didn't know it at the time that it was an ectropian cervix. Doctor has said that it's common and doesn't affect baby or pregnancy, just to monitor the bleeding and if it's gushes of red blood to call triage to be sure every time it happens as better to be safe than sorry.

They've kept me in overnight for monitoring as I had reduced movement but all is fine.

Oh that’s really reassuring thanks for sharing! I think it’s just more bothersome and worrying than an actual issue for the pregnancy then, which is a huge relief! Thanks ladies I will keep going in (daily!) to be seen as needed.
