Acid Reflux / Water Brash

Hi! I'm almost 14 weeks pregnant and suffering from the most vile taste in my mouth. At first I thought it was the metallic taste people describe but the nausea etc is lessening but this taste is getting worse. It's like constant saliva with stomach acid in - I constantly have loads of excess saliva and the taste is so disgusting I just wretch at anything that goes in my mouth. Water, food, mints - everything just comes back up because I can't bear the taste. Chewing gum works but gives me loads of gas and once I stop chewing it the water brash comes back. I try to eat food but literally shove a chewing gum in straight after to stop the aftertaste. Has anyone got any tips? I have had an acid reflux medication prescribed by the GP but it's basically just similar to Gaviscon and doesn't seem to be doing much. I know there are stronger medications for stomach acid out there - just wondering if anyone has any tips etc? Thanks!
