Hi all mums / to- be mums,

So happy to start my first post on mumsnet after months of following for inspiring and positive stories. Needless to stay worrying more and more as also nearing 12 th week scan date (22nd June, this Monday). Guess when we already have seen the worst outcomes of failed pregnancies, all we can do is ocassionally try to stay calm, expect less but in the end also start worrying like in every other pregnancy. So far the 7th and 9th weeks scans had been okay, bit experienced a tiny bit of cervical fluid with dark blood few days earlier didn't repeat - fingers crossed) and also on cyclogest daily twice. Would be great to hear from some of you guys having same feelings as nearing their scans or ones who've already been through this Smile

I don’t have any useful experience to share, but just to say I’m in the same boat - scan on Monday and I’m bricking it! Doesn’t help that I feel totally fine, and have done most of the way through. Have had a private scan this week so husband could come, but somehow still totally panicking about it! Can’t imagine how much worse it is for you - let’s hope luck is on both our sides. X

Shomzzzbusybee123 · 20/06/2020 13:59

@Carabu1 Am so happy that all's so well with you so far Smile The wait do seem to be nearing end, isn't it? Do let me know surely how it goes for you this Monday..

Hey I've had the horrible 12 weeks scan with no heartbeat so I am a little nervous about this one, but hoping for the best, ive had scans throughout and always been great so fingers crossed my scan is on Wednesdays good luck for yours on monday 😊 im also on the progesterone pessary so lets hope they have helped us

Shomzzzbusybee123 · 21/06/2020 13:10

@Sazzy312 great to know its going good for you so far in this pregnancy, not all is bound to give us same experience Smile The only thing deceptive about these progesterone pessaries is that makes us feel pregnant symptoms almost the same way, but I am hoping it had helped us both this time. Fingers crossed for tomorrow and hope you have a great scan on Wednesday too!

Hi I also have my 12 week scan tomorrow although no nerves here, a little sad DP can't come but we understand given what's going on at the minute, I had a scan at 7 weeks and all was well and I also have a home Doppler and I check in every few days so that gives me peace of mind x

emvy · 21/06/2020 21:10

I have been in your position - a mmc and then a mc. I then had my DS who is now 2. The 12 week scan was incredibly nerve wracking. I remember lying there and just repeating in my head that there wouldn’t be a heartbeat. The sonographer was amazing. They’d put in my notes that I was anxious due to my history and although I told her when we went in as well, she was already aware. She kept our screen off until she’d found the heartbeat and then showed us. It was the most wonderful moment. I cried.

I get that it’s petrifying so just do what you need to do. Tell the sonographer. Deep breaths. I have everything crossed and every faith that you’ll see your healthy baby tomorrow. Good luck!

Shomzzzbusybee123 · 21/06/2020 23:38

Hi @Maidmummy I'm so happy the home Doppler thing is working for you but I hadn't been in a position to try that yet as wasn't that much sure if it's going to be reliable. Maybe give it a try now Smile I do hope all goes best for your scan tomorrow and you bring good news to this thread again ! Deep breaths ....

That sounds wonderful @emvy when we expect that to be rarest moment for our earlier histories.. Lets see what tomorrow has to say today. Worrying much isn't going to change anything at this moment.. Smile

I’ve also been in the same position, MMC at 11 weeks and MC at 7. I was incredibly lucky and it was third time lucky for me and my third baby is now 3! It was an awful worrying time which I coped with by pretending it wasn’t happening and disengaging until I knew the pregnancy was established. I wish you the very best of luck xxxx

Prettylittlelady · 22/06/2020 06:42

@Shomzzzbusybee123 Hi, didn’t want to read and run. I felt like this before my 12 week scan I was getting myself into such a state, I’d also had 7 week & 9 week scans but just couldn’t shake the fact that something might go wrong. It think it’s natural when you’ve had a loss.
I’m currently 23+5 with a little girl and all is still going well.
Thinking of you today - let us know how you get on x

Maidmummy · 22/06/2020 06:56

@Shomzzzbusybee123 I have my scan early this morning 9:10am so will update once I'm back home, good luck with your scan today x

Maidmummy · 22/06/2020 10:50

Also been there, OP, and came away shocked and heartbroken. Have 3 DCs now, but always got awful anxiety just before the scans, even with DC3. Best of luck Flowers

Sazzy312 · 22/06/2020 11:59

@Maidmummy congrats, bet it was lovely seeing baby 😀

Shomzzzbusybee123 · 22/06/2020 18:05

@Maidmummy congrats!!! And some good news from here too...sorry for being that late as my appointment was booked late in afternoon (14:10). Here's one glimpse of the baby though was in a bit awkward position making it difficult for measurements.. Also measuring 13 w as per scan Smile Seems like one giant leap taken and many more to be taken.. wish you similarly all the best and to you too @Prettylittlelady !!

Thx for all your supports @Meanameicallmyself20 and @AllRainbowsAndUnicorns - looks like all your wishes had made this beatiful day so possible!!

Shomzzzbusybee123 · 26/06/2020 00:49

@Sazzy312 mine is 28th dec as per latest scan otherwise per dates 30th. Yesterday had almost a horrible headache with lots of bloating and resulting in dizziness while still lying in bed. Feeling bit better today, so hoping will get some nice sleep! How you doing?!Smile

OP posts:
Sazzy312 · 26/06/2020 10:29

@Shomzzzbusybee123 ah nice your a little ahead :) I was the 7th but on scan they dated me 3rd jan now so thats nice, I'm feeling just hot and still feeling stretches and twinges and a bit lightheaded, I think they say lightheaded is common after 12 weeks as we have more blood going around the body, I do feel more alive than I did before so thats good, hope you managed to get some good sleep x

Shomzzzbusybee123 · 26/06/2020 15:42

@Sazzy312 yes I am too like all the time complaining of the hotness, while my hubby is casually working without any fan Grin, feels like its just me.. Are you planning for a home Doppler by any chance? Once the scans are over now, am again like back into panicking.. :(

Sazzy312 · 26/06/2020 21:30

@Shomzzzbusybee123 No I havent thought about one, are you? I'm just running this pregnancy now that everything will be alright so I can enjoy it as it might be our only one and worrying is so draining, if anything bad does happen we will just deal with it at the time but I do know what you mean I was like oh what do I do now? As we've only ever tried to get to the 12 weeks before and not succeeded so this is all new to us, gonna be a long wait but Im sure we will look back and think where did the time go
