Pregnancy vitamin at 26 weeks

Hi everyone

I'm 26 weeks and have two weeks left of my Pregnacare vitamins, so will take me til the beginning of 3rd trimester.

Do you think I'm ok to just to take a multivitamin as long as it has the 10micrograms of vitD?

Thanks 😊

I mean just a bog standard multivitamin not pregnacare necessarily.

I don’t think that youu’re not meant to take vitamin A so it shouldn’t contain that. Do you need a multivitamin rather than just vitamin D?

*you’re not meant to take vit A

I'm 32 weeks and still taking pregnacare max. If you want to continue, have a look at boots own brand or seven seas or even supermarkets own.
Stick to proper pregnancy ones though, not just general multivitamins as you have to be careful of some things like vitamin A as pp said

I got the pregnancy vitamins free when pregnant all it contained was vit d and folic acid. I was advices I didn't need anything else. Eventually they started me on the dreaded iron tablets as I was low.

normal multivitamin has vitamin A so you shouldn't take them. Either take a pregnancy specific one (doesn't have to be pregnacare) or just take vitamin D as that's all that's advised to take after the first trimester

As others have said you just need to be careful with the vitamin A in a multivitamin. Own brand pregnancy vitamins are much much cheaper than the pregnacare ones and contain exactly the same stuff. 👍🏻

Ah, yes forgot about the vit A! Thanks everyone Smile
