Just wondering how many midwife appointments I should be having. It is my 3rd baby and I'm currently 24 weeks my 16 week midwife appointment was a phone consultation but haven't heard anything since. When should I next be speaking to a midwife? I haven't seen mine or spoken to her since my 8 week booking in appointment. I have an appointment late duly to see my consultant due to back problems and to decide whether a c section or natural delivery is going to happen but that's all?

You should swe your midwife at 28 weeks next according to the RCOG guidelines for ammended appointments due to coronavirus

I am pregnant with second baby:
8 weeks booking was face to face (pre coronavirus)
16 week was phonecall
24 was phonecall
28 is meant to be face to face

I think from what she said on the phone 32 week will be a phonecall and then face to face at 34 but I can't remember.

Definitely been left to my own devices this time around, who knows seems like the guidelines are changing all the time Smile

The attached screenshot is RCOG guidelines for which appointments can be virtual or cancelled and which should be kept.

As above, it should be 28 weeks.

Appointments from 28 weeks onwards should all be face to face

I've had every single appointment face to face so depends on your area also :) x

I'm 28+1 with our fourth baby. My booking appointment and 12 week scan were pre-lockdown. My 16 week appointment was over the phone with my midwife and then I saw a different midwife after my 20 week scan who took my blood pressure and tested my urine Wii I couldn't be done over the phone at 16 weeks. I'm seeing my midwife for a face to face 28 week appointment this morning then the rest of my appointments will be the same from now on

I’m also 24 weeks with my 3rd baby. I called and requested a 25 week face to face appointment as I have been feeling a bit anxious about movement .
The normal next appointment is 28 weeks but if you feel You need some support before then you can call and request it hopefully?

Have you had your 20 week scan?
At my scan, I saw the midwife afterwards to check blood pressure and urine. I also had the whooping cough vaccine.
I asked about what would happen next and they said I should come in for blood tests at 28 weeks but completely failed to tell me that I should also book to the see the midwife separately 🙄
I have only just realised so I've booked it now and will see her at 29+2.
Frankly I think the communication and support for pregnant women has been dire!

Have a look at the front of your book, it lists all the appointments in there. I've been lucky enough to see the midwife in person every time. Different surgeries have different ways though.
