So I have been pregnant 5 times (only 1 living child), currently 9 weeks and 3 days and in any previous pregnancy I have not experienced the hook effect.....until now!
I had some left over tests and thought why not! So I dipped one in my pee and the line was so so faint! Cue panic on my behalf! Then I remembered I had read about hook effect before so I diluted my pee down, it was literally 10% pee and 90% water- dipped another test and the line is darker than the control line!!
For those who haven't heard of the hook effect it is where your hormone levels get so high that it can cause the test to not work properly and in some people it can cause a negative result even when they are pregnant!
