Hello,

I have been crying all morning. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks at the beginning of March. Husband and I were devestated. Started trying again after my period finally made an appearance and we were lucky to conceive again very quickly- found out I was pregnant on May 25th.
First few weeks knowing went great- so much more positive than first time around (I started spotting about 4 days after positive test that resulted in MC 2 weeks later in March), but this time my levels were rising so fast and everything looked great- and I was sure of dates!
Due to the odd bit of slightly odd coloured discharge (sorry TMI) i went to EPU on Monday past there (Mon 15th June) and saw little bean with flickering heartbeat- dating me 6 weeks 1 day (just 2 days earlier than I thought I was). Was absolutely over the moon. However, as soon as I got home i had blood- i put this down to the scan annoying me and tried to put it out of my mind. However, it is still going today- slightly heavier but not really bad.

Sorry i posted early! New to mumsnet and not sure how to edit to add more info.

Continued:
However, it is still going today- slightly heavier but not really bad. Showing every time I wipe, particularly after BM (Sorry TMI again). I have no cramps at all- but I am absolutely terrified. I would be so heartbroken if I lost another baby.

I have rang the EPU again but didn't answer so i left a voicemail this morning. Can't seem to get through to them.

Can Trans-vaginal US cause a few days of bleeding, or should I resign myself to MC again and not keep hopes up? :(

Thanks so much everyone. I'm so down. x

Please don't be down! The first few weeks can be so worrying and it's not uncommon to have a bit of bleeding. It's great they saw a heartbeat!

I bled on average every other day from 3 days before I got my BFP until 8 weeks. No cause found but they suspected it may have been some fluid leaking from the Douglas' Pouch. Baby was born healthy Smile

Hi sorry to hear you're going through this, it's so scary isn't it?

I've had pretty much constant bleeding since five weeks and am now 10+5. I've had two scans so far, at 6 weeks and 9 weeks, both times baby looked fine. I've had no significant pain or cramping throughout. Bleeding remains unexplained (just happens in some pregnancies apparently Confused ), but these days I just try to ignore it and countdown the days till my next scan (6 days!)

Just saying this to hopefully reassure you that bleeding does not necessarily mean a miscarriage is on the way. I hope the epu get in touch with you soon and can put your mind at rest.

sconenotscon · 18/06/2020 14:42

Hi OP

I had bleeding from around 5 weeks until I was 15 weeks and I was passing blood clots every other day. Scans were all absolutely fine and it remains unexplained! I'm currently 34 weeks, baby is perfectly healthy and the midwives have no concerns whatsoever. They told me to look out for any cramping so the fact you aren't getting this is positive but I can completely understand your stress given your last miscarriage xx

Please keep trying EPU for your own peace of mind, but do remember that bleeding doesn't always mean miscarriage and it's not uncommon for this to happen in early pregnancy xx

Hello OP, sorry to hear you are going through this.

I have also bled since week 5 and I’m now at 11+5. I’ve had two scans, one at the EPU and a private one and both times they said everything looks great, heart beating away.
At my private scan she said she could see a bruise which could of been caused by implantation and is probably the source of the bleeding.
In my area the EPU told me that unless I had heavy painful bleeding with large clots they are not concerned and bleeding is completely normal in pregnancy. Although a google search doesn’t tell you that it’s normal.
Hopefully the EPU ring you back soon

@Asiama Thank you so much for replying. So glad to hear you had some bleeding that resulted in healthy baby! I am just so worried because of last time. Can't get it out of my head. Thanks so much Flowers x

@CoalCraft

Hi! Thanks so much. It is so scary. I am glad to hear you have been having healthy scans despite the bleeding. I am sure you can't wait until your next scan! Getting the 12 week one done will be such a milestone!

I am hoping my bleeding is just a result of the transvaginal scan hurting me- but i don't know as I just seem to clutch at any straws that don't point to miscarriage. Just want this wee baby so bad and would be so devestated.

EPU got in touch and wrote me a letter to GP to get prescribed progesterone- I brought it to GP there but they don;t seem to be rushing themselves in writing the prescription so I won't get my first dose until tomorrow afternoon. Just hope it helps.

Thanks again for replying- so kind of you to try reassure me. Best of luck with your next scan and rest of your pregnancy! x

@sconenotscon
Hi! Omg i am sure the bleeding with clots so often was soooo scary for you at the time. So happy to hear you have a healthy baby coming soon!
Yes I am hoping that the fact that I am not cramping will be a good sign.
I am hoping my bleeding is just a result of the transvaginal scan done on Monday hurting me, as i did have some pain while they poked about- but i don't know as I just seem to clutch at any straws that don't point to miscarriage.

EPU got in touch and wrote me a letter to GP to get prescribed progesterone- I brought it to GP there but they don't seem to be rushing themselves in writing the prescription so I won't get my first dose until tomorrow afternoon. Not even sure if it'll do anything but if it stops bleeding I'll be happy and then I can maybe pay for a private scan at 8 weeks or so. Hate the not knowing lol

Good luck with rest of your pregnancy- congratulations and thanks again for replying! x

@Emilyw1993

Hi Emily.

THank you so much.
I am glad to hear your scans have went well despite the bleeding! I've heard of internal bruises before- that must be the cause of it for you! Its good to know- so thank you!
My bleeding was initially just two days of the most minor bleed every- basically just a drop of blood in my cerival mucas (gross tmi sorry lol!)- that i may have only noticed because i was being hyper vigilant due to previous MC. However, after the transvaginal scan on Monday the bleeding has gottten worse. I am not blaming them in any way, I am just wondering if it could be that my cervix bleeds easily or whatever- but they didn't seem to find that much of a possibility.
They rang back and have given me a letter to give my dr to get perscribed progesterone. GP doesn't seem to be in any rush to get it written though so I won't actually be able to pick it up until tomorrow afternoon. Raging. Just hope all ends up well.

Thanks again for your reply and good luck with your pregnancy!Flowers x

Hello.
I'm not sure where to start aside from the fact that I really don't have anyone to talk about this!
DH and I got an infertility check up - AMH low (0.5), am 40, one tube closed (for unknown reasons). Between his and my results, because they were so depressing, we decided to forgo IVF and tried on own - although we know it may not even happen.
My cycles have been clockwork. They're 24 days (+/- 2 days). Periods about 4 days. Strange thing is that last month, after my period, I spotted for 4 days (very, very unusual).
This time, I'm still spotting 11 days after my period. Several days ago, I had horrible cramps.
I personally know of two women who had "periods" and didn't know were pregnant; one figured out her belly was getting bigger and the other one went for a run and didn't feel right.
I ordered pregnancy tests online and should be here tomorrow, so I figure the earliest I can test for that is Saturday morning.
What's your take? Potential pregnancy? Low progesterone? Perimenopause?

Just looking to see if anyone else out there is experiencing similar circumstances.

@ciara96 so sorry to hear you're going through this 🙏 I had a scare last night (7 weeks today)... woke at 2am with lots of blood and clots, was convinced I was losing the baby. Just got back from scan and the baby is fine, saw heartbeat 🙏 bleeding was from a haematoma caused by uterus expanding, been put on bed rest and now praying it heals. Sending you and baby positive vibes xx

ciara96 · 20/06/2020 12:32

@A891793m Hi love! So glad to hear your baby was ok!! It is so so scary to loose blood isn’t it?? I’m sure the haematoma will heal up grand! Look after yourself Flowers

I have a similar happy update story! I just went for a scan this morning, even though the bleeding stopped. Baby is fine as well!! She said she has a strong heartbeat and I’m measuring bigger than I did on Monday! Similar to you I have little pockets of blood on the uterus that she said could cause the bleeding so not to worry about it at all as baby seems completely fine and all is well! I’m over the moon I really am!!

Best of luck with rest of your pregnancy! Xx

@awe2020 hi there! I’m not sure what to suggest for you! You definitely could still be pregnant if spotting isn’t normal for you! Have you tested again since? You should defiantly get back up to the dr and they can do blood tests as HCG shows up much more in blood rather than urine.

Best of luck and hope you get results you want! X

UPDATE

Bleeding stopped the day after it began but I still had odd discharge. Had another scan this morning as I couldn’t stop worrying! Baby was absolutely fine! Strong heartbeat and had grown since last time I was in. Had small pockets of blood in uterus/haematomas that she said has likely caused the bleeding. Just told to rest and not worry as all is looking perfect! So happy: good luck to everyone else experiencing the same! It’s not always bad news! Flowers xx
