Hi,
I’m 21 weeks now and did have some flutters and jerks from 18 weeks but seem to have got less now and don’t feel anything again.I went to my 20 week scan last week and they told me iv got An anterior placenta but I’m still worried my baby is moving less.

I have an anterior placenta and am now 29 weeks. From 21 weeks to 24 weeks ish I could go days without feeling her. Apart from a tiny bubble every now and again.
It's all a bit cushioned and my baby liked hiding behind my placenta as my midwife said.
From 25 weeks I felt her everyday. I wouldn't worry. Baby is small at this stage and if anything like mine can find the most amazing hiding places

I've got an anterior placenta and felt nothing at all until over 22 weeks.

The main thing is that you should start to feel movements by 24 weeks (which you have) and then some kind of pattern from 28 weeks (although I'm 32 weeks now and still not sure i've got a proper pattern).

At 21 weeks, baby is still really teeny so any change in position will have a big impact on what you can feel....especially when a lot of movements are cushioned by your placenta.

Having said all of that, you know your body and your baby better than anyone so, if you're concerned, it's always worth giving the MAU a call just to run it by them.

Im 22 weeks and have an anterior placenta, mine are hit and miss too. Seem stronger than previous weeks, but I can go a while without any at all.

I'm the exact same as you! Felt baby from around 18 weeks, but some days recently at 21 weeks I barely feel anything. I also have anterior placenta. I don't think there's much anyone can do until after 24 weeks anyway. But I know the anxiety!! xxx

Was just about to come on here and ask for advice on the same thing! I’m 21 weeks had 20 week scan last week everything normal and saw baby moving about. Felt kicks two nights ago and a rolling sensation and popping since about 17 weeks last two days have been really quiet and today I’ve been worrying. Not sure if it’s worth calling midwife as baby is still so small and I also have an anterior placenta x

Call MAU. I was surprised when I was told to go in at 19 weeks to get checked as I hadn’t felt baby for a few days, but the midwife wanted me to go. That’s when I found out I had an anterior placenta. But MAU also insisted that any significant change of movement should be checked out, even if it’s early. I’m sure it’s fine but give them a call.

I'm coming up 21 weeks and only started feeling flutters I think! Absolutely normal! Xx

Glad I’m not on my own, I have rang triage last week and she said pretty normal before 24 weeks x

I'm 26 weeks today, last few week or so felt quite alot of movement each day however last couple of days haven't felt him move very much. Goin to ring midwife this morning see what she says, I also have anterior placenta so didn't think I would feel much but after feeling alot now nothing much starting to get a little concerned.
